Valor Investigates

Valor Investigations is a nonprofit investigative journalism organization focused on systemic abuse in guardianship, elder care, and public institutions. We operate out of La Grande, Oregon.

We use Apify Actors to:

Map professional networks -- identifying connections between attorneys, court-appointed fiduciaries, and care facilities across Oregon Monitor legislative activity -- tracking bills like SB 190 that affect guardianship oversight Scrape public records -- pulling court filings, licensing data, corporate registrations, and agency contacts Power free public tools -- our website (valor-investigations.com/advocate) hosts 22 document generators that help people file complaints with agencies like DHS, CMS, the Oregon State Bar, and the VA. Those tools depend on current, scraped data to stay accurate.

We are building the first open-source investigative platform designed to make public accountability tools accessible to anyone, regardless of legal expertise or resources. Every tool we build is free. We charge nothing.
