An Apify actor that extracts video metadata from CNBC.

What it does

  1. Fetches the given CNBC video listing page (default: https://www.cnbc.com/video/)
  2. Extracts the internal section ID from the page's __NEXT_DATA__ JSON blob
  3. Calls CNBC's internal GraphQL API (Apollo Persisted Queries) to retrieve paginated video metadata — no browser needed, fast and lightweight
  4. Falls back to scraping individual video HTML pages (JSON-LD / Open Graph) if the GraphQL API is unavailable

Output fields

FieldDescription
titleVideo title
descriptionVideo description / summary
videoLocationDirect video playback URL
videoDurationISO 8601 duration (e.g. PT2M26S)
videoPublishDateISO 8601 publish date
videoThumbnailThumbnail image URL
sourceUrlCNBC page URL for the video
idCNBC internal asset ID

Input

FieldTypeDefaultDescription
startUrlstringhttps://www.cnbc.com/video/CNBC video listing URL
maxVideosinteger50Max videos to scrape (0 = unlimited)
pageSizeinteger10Videos per GraphQL page request

Notes

  • The GraphQL endpoint uses Apollo Persisted Queries — the query hash is hardcoded from browser DevTools observation. If CNBC rotates the hash, the actor falls back to HTML scraping automatically.
  • Respects maxVideos across both strategies.
