Paste a list of domains and get, for each one, its Majestic Million global rank, referring subnets and referring IPs, the change since the previous list, and a 0-100 open authority score. Optionally add your own free Open PageRank key for a 0-10 PageRank. No paid SEO tool is scraped: the data comes from open, licensed sources.
USD 1 per 1,000 domains, plus a small start fee per run (see Pricing). Invalid inputs are free.
Read this first: the Majestic Million lists the top 1 million domains on the web by referring subnets. Most small-business and local sites are not in it. For those, this actor says so plainly (
inMajesticTop1M: false) and, only if you add an Open PageRank key, gives them a PageRank. It never makes up a number.
What people use it for
- Vet a guest-post or link-building list. Sort hundreds of candidate sites by referring subnets and drop the ones with no real link profile before you pay for a placement.
- Rank sales prospects by size. Put your prospect domains in, sort by the open authority score, and start outreach with the biggest sites.
- Weekly rank-movement report. Majestic refreshes the list daily. Schedule a weekly run and watch
rankChangeandrefSubnetsChangefor your own site and your competitors. - Screen affiliate and partner applications. Check every applicant's site in one run instead of opening an SEO tool for each one.

{"input": "https://apify.com/store","domain": "apify.com","inMajesticTop1M": true,"majesticGlobalRank": 15951,"majesticTldRank": 7711,"tld": "com","refSubnets": 2615,"refIPs": 6284,"prevGlobalRank": 16163,"prevRefSubnets": 2593,"prevRefIPs": 5998,"rankChange": 212,"refSubnetsChange": 22,"openAuthorityScore": 60,"openPageRank": null,"openPageRankRank": null,"majesticListDate": "2026-10-05","checkedAt": "2026-10-05T16:40:00.000Z","source": "Majestic Million (CC BY 3.0)","error": null}
Input
| Field | What it does |
|---|---|
domains | Domains or URLs, one per line. Each is reduced to its registered domain with the Public Suffix List: https://www.python.org/downloads/ becomes python.org, bbc.co.uk stays bbc.co.uk, blog.example.com becomes example.com. Duplicates are checked once. Invalid entries (spaces, IP addresses, unknown TLDs, empty lines) get a row with an error and are free. |
openPageRankApiKey | Optional, your own free Open PageRank key (stored as a secret input). Adds openPageRank (0-10) and openPageRankRank. |
maxDomains | Check at most this many unique domains (default 1,000, up to 100,000). Domains past the limit are skipped and not charged. |
includeNotRanked | On by default. Turn off to leave out domains that are not in the Majestic top 1 million; left-out domains are not charged. |
Output fields
| Field | Meaning |
|---|---|
input, domain | What you typed, and the registered domain that was checked. |
inMajesticTop1M | true when the domain is in today's Majestic Million, false when the whole list was read and it is not there. |
majesticGlobalRank, majesticTldRank, tld | Position in the full list and within its top-level domain. |
refSubnets | Referring subnets: how many distinct IP subnets (class C) host pages that link to the domain. Majestic ranks the list by this number. It is hard to inflate, because links from many sites on one server count once. |
refIPs | Referring IP addresses that link to the domain. |
prevGlobalRank, prevRefSubnets, prevRefIPs | The same values from Majestic's previous list. |
rankChange | prevGlobalRank - majesticGlobalRank. Positive means the domain moved up. |
refSubnetsChange | refSubnets - prevRefSubnets. |
openAuthorityScore | Our open score, 0 to 100 (see below). null for domains outside the top 1M. |
openPageRank, openPageRankRank | Only with your Open PageRank key: the 0-10 score and its global rank. null when Open PageRank has no score for the domain. |
majesticListDate | The date of the Majestic list used (from the file's Last-Modified header). |
source | The data sources behind the row, with licence. |
error | Why a row has no data (invalid input), or an Open PageRank problem (bad key, quota used up). Majestic values in the same row are still valid. |
The run's key-value store also holds a SUMMARY record: counts, the Majestic list date, how many rows were read, the download time, and the top 1M cutoff (the referring subnets of the domain ranked 1,000,000; 266 on the 2026-10-05 list).
The open authority score
openAuthorityScore = round(100 * log10(refSubnets + 1) / log10(maxRefSubnets + 1)), where maxRefSubnets is the referring-subnet count of the number 1 domain in the same list (google.com, 509,656 on 2026-10-05). So the top domain scores 100, and the scale is logarithmic like the link graph itself. Because the list stops at 1 million domains, ranked domains score from about 43 (the cutoff) to 100.
This is our own open score computed from Majestic's published numbers. It is not Moz Domain Authority, Ahrefs Domain Rating or Majestic Trust Flow, and it will not match them.
What "not in the top 1M" means
The actor reads the whole Majestic list. If a domain is not there, it has fewer referring subnets than the domain in position 1,000,000 (the cutoff in the run summary). That is a real answer, so it is charged like any other domain. It does not mean the site has no links.
Optional: Open PageRank key
Open PageRank scores over 100 million domains from the Common Crawl web graph, so it covers many sites outside the Majestic top 1M. To use it:
- Sign in at openpagerank.keywordseverywhere.com with a Keywords Everywhere account and create an OPR API key on the dashboard. The free plan includes 30,000 domains per month.
- Paste the key into Open PageRank API key.
The actor checks your remaining monthly allowance first, sends at most 100 domains per request and at most one request per second, and stops when the allowance is used up: the remaining rows say Open PageRank monthly quota used up and keep their Majestic data. A rejected key is reported in error on every row, and the Majestic data is still delivered. Each domain looked up counts against your Open PageRank allowance. Your key is sent only to the Open PageRank API and is never written to the log or the dataset.
Pricing
| What | Price |
|---|---|
| Domain checked (ranked, or confirmed not in the top 1M) | USD 0.001 (USD 1 per 1,000) |
| Run start (covers downloading the 81 MB Majestic list once per run) | USD 0.01 per run |
Invalid input, domains past maxDomains, domains left out by includeNotRanked | Free |
Examples on the free plan:
- The default input (5 domains): 0.01 + 5 x 0.001 = USD 0.015.
- 1,000 domains: 0.01 + 1.00 = USD 1.01.
- 10,000 domains: 0.01 + 10.00 = USD 10.01.
Higher Apify plans get a discount on the per-domain price. You can set a maximum cost per run in the run options; the actor stops cleanly when it is reached and keeps every row written so far. Open PageRank itself is free up to your plan's monthly allowance and is billed by Keywords Everywhere, not here.
Schedule it weekly
Save your list as a task, schedule it weekly, and export the dataset to Google Sheets, a webhook or Slack. The movement view shows rank and referring-subnet changes side by side.
Limits and honesty
- Small sites are usually outside the Majestic top 1M. Without an Open PageRank key they only get
inMajesticTop1M: false. - Registered domains only. Subdomains are reduced to their registered domain (
en.wikipedia.orgis checked aswikipedia.org). Majestic also lists some large subdomains separately; this actor reports the registered domain. - One list per run. Every run downloads the current Majestic Million once (about 28 MB compressed) and reads it as a stream. The download takes most of the run time. If the connection breaks, the actor resumes from where it stopped; if that also fails, domains not yet found get an
errorand are not charged. - It never visits the domains you enter. It only talks to the Majestic download server and, with your key, the Open PageRank API.
- The Majestic list is updated daily; the date used is in every row.
What this does not do
- It does not scrape or call Ahrefs, Moz, Semrush, Similarweb or Majestic's paid API, and it does not give their metrics (no Domain Rating, Domain Authority, Trust Flow or Citation Flow).
- It does not list backlinks, anchor texts or referring domains one by one; it gives counts and ranks.
- It does not estimate traffic.
- It does not use the Tranco list, because its default list includes Cloudflare Radar data under a non-commercial (CC BY-NC 4.0) licence.

FAQ
Why is a well-known local business "not in the top 1M"? The list holds only the 1 million domains with the most referring subnets on the whole web. Add an Open PageRank key for a score on smaller sites.
Why do I pay for "not in the top 1M"? Because the actor read the whole list to confirm it; that is the answer you asked for. Invalid inputs and anything not checked are free.
Can I check 100,000 domains? Yes. The list is downloaded once per run, whatever the number of domains, so large runs cost mostly the per-domain price.
