๐ŸŽต Billboard Charts Scraper: Hot 100 & History

Billboard Charts Scraper exports Billboard chart data (Hot 100, Billboard 200, Global 200 and 12 more charts) for the current week or any historical week back to 1958. Each row has rank, title, artist, last week, peak position, weeks on chart, new-entry and re-entry flags and cover art. Export CSV, Excel, JSON or XML. No login, no API key. Priced at $10 per 1,000 chart entries, so a top-10 costs $0.10.

The Billboard Charts Scraper turns Billboard's weekly rankings into a dataset you can sort, join and chart. Pick one or more charts, optionally list week dates, and every chart position becomes one row. Checked against the live site on 2026-10-04: the Hot 100 for the week of 2020-06-13 returned "Rockstar" by DaBaby Featuring Roddy Ricch at #1, last week 3, peak 1, 7 weeks on chart.

๐ŸŽฏ What does the Billboard Charts Scraper do?

  • Scrapes the Billboard Hot 100 and 14 other charts into rows with rank, title and artist.
  • Gets historical Billboard charts for any date you list (YYYY-MM-DD), Hot 100 history reaches back to 1958-08-04.
  • Adds last week, peak position and weeks on chart for every entry, plus NEW and RE-ENTRY flags.
  • Lets you keep only the top 10, top 40 or full 100 (200 for the Billboard 200) per chart week.
  • Optionally adds a chart week summary row: number 1 title and artist, entry count, new entries and re-entries.

๐Ÿ’ฐ How much does it cost to scrape Billboard charts?

Pay per event. You are charged only for rows delivered, never for failed or empty requests.

EventPriceWhen it is charged
Chart entry$0.01One chart position row
Chart week summary$0.015One optional summary row per chart week (off by default)

Examples: a top-10 of one week costs $0.10, a full Hot 100 week costs $1.00, and a top-10 for each of 52 weeks of a year costs $5.20. Error rows and runs that fail are not charged. Set a maximum cost per run in the run options and the actor stops cleanly when it is reached. Free plan users get a 10-row preview.

๐Ÿš€ How to scrape Billboard charts (3 steps)

  1. Open the actor and choose one or more charts (the default is Hot 100).
  2. Optionally add week dates, leave the list empty for the current week, and set positions per chart.
  3. Click Start, then download the dataset as CSV, Excel, JSON or XML.

โš™๏ธ Input

FieldMeaning

includeChartSummaryAdd one summary row per chart week, default false

๐Ÿ“ฆ Output

Rows go to the default dataset with a table view that shows the cover art, chart, week, rank, title, artist, last week, peak and weeks on chart. Download it as CSV, Excel, JSON or XML, or read it through the API. If no rows can be delivered, for example a date in the future (tested with 2099-01-01), a blocked request or an unreadable page, the run ends as failed with a clear message and nothing is charged. It never finishes as succeeded with an empty dataset because of a block.

๐Ÿ“ˆ Billboard Charts Scraper vs alternatives

Prices read from the public Apify Store listings on 2026-10-04:

ActorPriceNote
This actor$10 per 1,000 entries15 charts, any week since 1958, optional summary rows
automation-lab/billboard-music-charts-scraperabout $0.87 per 1,000 items + start feeCheaper per row
jungle_synthesizer/billboard-charts-history-scraper$1 per 1,000 records + $0.10 start feeCheaper per row
maximedupre/billboard$0.90 per 1,000 entriesCheaper per row

We are more expensive per row than these. What you get for it: movement fields (last week, peak, weeks on chart) read per row, NEW and RE-ENTRY flags, cover art, a position cap so you pay for a top-10 only, and charge protection (no billing for error or empty rows). If you only need plain ranks at the lowest price, one of the cheaper listings may suit you better.

๐Ÿ’ก Billboard chart data use cases

  • Music industry analytics: track a roster's chart runs, peaks and weeks on chart across all 15 charts.
  • Journalism: build "every number one of the 1990s" tables from a list of dates.
  • Playlist and radio planning: use new-entry and re-entry flags to spot movers.
  • Research: decades of weekly rankings as panel data for studies of genre and market change.

๐Ÿ”Œ Run via API, schedule and integrations

Call it with the Apify API, for example with the JavaScript client:

import { ApifyClient } from 'apify-client';
const client = new ApifyClient({ token: '<YOUR_APIFY_TOKEN>' });
const run = await client.actor('recordsdata/billboard-charts-scraper').call({
charts: ['hot-100'], weeks: ['2020-06-13'], positionsPerChart: 10,
});
const { items } = await client.dataset(run.defaultDatasetId).listItems();

Billboard publishes new charts on Tuesdays, so a weekly Tuesday schedule gets the freshest week. Connect the dataset to Zapier, Make, n8n, Google Sheets, Slack or webhooks, or call the actor from an AI agent through the Apify MCP server.

The actor reads the public chart pages that anyone can open without logging in, and collects no personal data beyond artist names printed in public rankings. Billboard's terms apply to how you reuse the data, so check them for commercial redistribution. This is an independent tool and is not affiliated with Billboard.

โ“ Frequently asked questions

How do I export the Billboard Hot 100 to CSV or Excel?

Select hot-100, click Start and download the dataset as CSV or Excel. Add week dates to get past weeks.

How far back do Billboard charts go?

The Hot 100 reaches its first week, 1958-08-04. Other charts start on their own launch dates. A date before a chart's first week resolves to that first week, as the Billboard site does, so check the chartDate field on each row.

Which Billboard charts are supported?

Fifteen: Hot 100, Billboard 200, Artist 100, Global 200, Global excl. US, Streaming, Radio, Digital Song Sales and seven genre charts.

Can I get only the top 10?

Yes. Set positionsPerChart to 10 and you pay for 10 entries per chart week.

How are new entries and re-entries shown?

isNew and isReEntry are Yes or No, and lastWeek is left out for those rows.

What does the summary row add?

One row per chart week with the number 1 title and artist, entry count, new entries and re-entries. It is off by default and charged as its own event.

Do I need an API key or login?

No. It reads public pages with built-in pacing between requests.

What if my date is not a chart Saturday?

Nearby dates resolve to that week's chart, the same way the Billboard site does.

Why did I get 0 results?

The most common cause is a chart or date with no page on Billboard, or a mistyped chart name (invalid names are rejected before the run starts). When no chart rows can be read for a date (for example a date in the future), the run fails with a clear message and nothing is charged. Blocked requests also end as failed, and you are not charged.

How many rows can one run return?

Up to 1,000,000 on paid plans; a full year of Hot 100 weeks is 5,200 rows. Free plan runs return up to 10.
