Local SEO Lead Finder — Find Businesses With Weak Google Business Profiles
Scan any city + niche on Google Maps and get back a ranked list of the local businesses with the weakest Google Business Profiles — the ones most likely to need an agency. Every lead is scored 0–90, graded A–D, and ranked weakest first, with its top weaknesses, phone number, and Maps link.
Built for local SEO agencies, web designers, and freelancers who prospect by cold call or cold email.
Never pay for the same lead twice
Google Maps returns the same prominent businesses every time you search. Most lead tools happily sell them to you again — that is the number-one complaint about this whole category.
This actor remembers every lead it has already delivered and skips it on later runs:
| Run | What happens | You are charged for |
|---|---|---|
| Monday | 8 businesses found, 8 delivered | 8 |
| Tuesday, same search | same 8 found, all skipped | 0 |
| Friday, 3 new businesses appeared | 3 delivered | 3 |
So a scheduled weekly scan gives you only what is new, and your bill matches.
The memory lives in your own Apify account and is scoped by Lead list name — by
default one list per niche + city + state. Set leadListId explicitly to share one
memory across several searches (e.g. texas-cleaning-campaign). Turn it off with
skipPreviouslySeen: false if you want everything again.
Filters run before billing
Every filter is applied before a lead is delivered or charged. If a business does not match what you asked for, you do not pay for it — and the run log tells you exactly how many were rejected and why:
Filters active: grade in [C,D] | exclude closedFiltered out 8 of 8 businesses — 8 grade not requested. You are not charged for these.
| Filter | Use it to |
|---|---|
| Only these grades | Return just C and D — the weakest profiles, your best prospects |
| Only businesses with no website | The classic web-design opening |
| Only businesses with a phone number | Skip listings you cannot call |
| Maximum star rating | Target businesses with reputation problems |
| Min / max review count | Skip dead listings, or skip established players |
| Exclude closed businesses | On by default — a closed business is not a lead |
How each business is scored (0–90)
| Signal | Points |
|---|---|
| Phone number | 10 |
| Website | 15 |
| Star rating | 15 |
| Review count | 20 |
| Photos | 15 |
| Category set | 5 |
| Complete address | 10 |
Grades: A ≥ 75 · B ≥ 55 · C ≥ 35 · D < 35. Businesses graded C or D are the strongest prospects. Permanently or temporarily closed listings are flagged.
How to find the best prospects
Target selection matters roughly 14× more than scan depth. Measured across real scans:
| Scan | Average score | Grade C/D | No website |
|---|---|---|---|
| Dentists, Austin TX (saturated, big metro) | 84/90 | 3% | 2 of 60 |
| House cleaning, Lubbock TX (home service, mid city) | 58/90 | 42% | 26 of 60 |
Rules that follow from that:
- Home-service and solo niches beat professional niches — cleaning, handyman, junk removal, lawn care, pressure washing, pest control, auto detailing.
- Small and mid-sized cities beat major metros.
- Scan deep — 100+. Google returns the most prominent businesses first, so the top 10 of any market are all grade A. The weak profiles are further down.
- Sweet spot for real agency budgets: mid-value home services (HVAC, roofing, plumbing, pest) in small-to-mid cities — they have money and weak profiles.
Input
{"niche": "house cleaning","city": "Lubbock","state": "TX","maxResults": 100,"skipPreviouslySeen": true,"onlyGrades": ["C", "D"],"requireNoWebsite": true}
Output
{"rank": 1,"businessName": "Maid in Heaven Professional Cleaning Services LLC","score": 60,"maxScore": 90,"grade": "B","topWeaknesses": ["Only 12 reviews — Local Pack businesses typically have 20+.","Only 2 photos — a quick, high-impact win.","No website linked — a strong signal this business needs help."],"phone": "(806) 555-0142","hasWebsite": false,"rating": 4.9,"reviewCount": 12,"address": "…","mapsUrl": "https://www.google.com/maps/place/…","placeId": "ChIJkT9OIA9t_oYRuVMTsOl5kuc","leadListId": "house cleaning-Lubbock-TX"}
Each run also writes a SUMMARY record to the key-value store with full accounting: scanned, filtered out (by reason), already delivered, delivered, and charged.
Pricing
Pay per business delivered. You are never charged for:
- leads already delivered in an earlier run of the same list
- businesses rejected by your filters
- permanently or temporarily closed listings (unless you opt in)
- error rows or empty results
