Bulk WHOIS lookup via RDAP (port-43 WHOIS fallback for ccTLDs like .jp, .ru, .kr): registrar, creation, update and expiry dates, domain age, days to expiry, status codes, nameservers, DNSSEC and availability. Domains, URLs or emails in. No contact data. $0.80 per 1,000 domains.
Look up WHOIS registration data for thousands of domains at once. Paste domains, website URLs or email addresses and get one clean row per registrable domain: registrar (with IANA ID), creation date, last update, expiry date, domain age in days, days until expiry, EPP status codes (clientTransferProhibited, redemptionPeriod…), nameservers, DNSSEC and whether the domain is registered at all. Data comes from the registries' official RDAP services (the modern, structured replacement for WHOIS) found through IANA's bootstrap file, and for country domains without RDAP (.jp, .ru, .kr, .es, .cn and others) from the registry's own port-43 WHOIS server, paced one query at a time so the registries' rate limits are respected. Use it to track domain expiry dates across a portfolio, spot newly registered or about-to-expire domains, check domain age for lead scoring and fraud signals, audit which registrar holds each brand domain, and verify availability before buying. Every row is GDPR-safe: registrant, admin and tech contact details are never returned. Need DNS records, SPF/DMARC and SSL expiry as well? Use Domain WHOIS & DNS Lookup. $0.80 per 1,000 domains; invalid inputs and failed lookups are free.
What data does it return?
Every run outputs clean, schema-validated rows like these:
| domain | registered | registrar | createdAt | expiresAt | domainAgeDays | dnssec |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| example.com | true | RESERVED-Internet Assigned Numbers Authority | 1995-08-14 | 2027-08-13 | 11387 | true |
| bbc.co.uk | true | British Broadcasting Corporation | 1994-12-13 | 2034-12-13 | 11632 | false |
| google.dev | true | MarkMonitor Inc. | 2018-06-13 | 2027-06-13 | 3048 | false |
| zq8x7k2m9vplw4unregistered.com | false | |||||
| yandex.ru | true | RU-CENTER-RU | 1997-09-23 | 2027-09-30 | 10622 |
How much does it cost?
Transparent pay-per-event pricing — you only pay for what you get, and the actor always respects your run budget: set a maximum total charge and it stops cleanly at the cap instead of overrunning.
| Event | Price | Charged | Worked example |
|---|---|---|---|
domain-result | $0.0008 | per domain looked up and delivered (registration data and availability) | 1,000 domains = $0.80 |
apify-actor-start | $0.00005 | per run per GB of memory (platform start fee) | One run at up to 1 GB = $0.00005 (charged as one event) |
Input options
| Field | Type | Required | Default | Description |
|---|---|---|---|---|
domains | array | yes | — | Domains to look up: bare domains, URLs or email addresses (each is reduced to its registrable domain, e.g. https://www.shop.example.co.uk/x → example.co.uk). Duplicates are removed. Up to 10,000 per run. |
checkAvailability | boolean | no | true | Set registered = true/false: the registry has no record of the domain or it does not exist in DNS (NXDOMAIN) ⇒ likely available to register. |
whoisFallback | boolean | no | true | For TLDs that have no public RDAP service (.jp, .ru, .es, .kr, .cn…), ask the registry's own port-43 WHOIS server (named by IANA). Queries are paced one at a time per server. Contact details are never returned. |
Limits & honest notes
- Privacy (GDPR): registrant, admin, tech, billing and abuse contact details (names, emails, phones, addresses, organisations) are never returned, even where the registry publishes them. Only the registrar's name and IANA ID are included.
- Registration data comes from RDAP first (IANA bootstrap: all gTLDs such as .com, .net, .org, .dev, .app and many ccTLDs such as .uk, .io, .de, .fr, .nl, .ch, .br, .au, .ca, .pl, .us). For TLDs without a public RDAP service (e.g. .jp, .ru, .kr, .es, .cn) the registry's port-43 WHOIS server named by IANA is asked instead (whoisFallback, on by default), one query at a time per server; some registries limit or block automated WHOIS queries, and those domains then return availability only, with a warning. Some registries publish less: .de has no creation or expiry date and no registrar.
registered: falsemeans the registry has no record (RDAP 404) or the domain does not exist in DNS (NXDOMAIN). It is a strong hint, not a guarantee: premium, reserved or recently deleted names may still be unavailable to register.- This listing returns registration data only. DNS records, SPF/DMARC and SSL certificates are in Domain WHOIS & DNS Lookup.
- RDAP servers are queried at most 2 at a time each and WHOIS servers one at a time with a pause between queries; rate-limit answers are retried with backoff or stop further queries to that server, so very large runs on one ccTLD take longer. Up to 10,000 domains per run.
- Respects your run budget: set a maximum total charge and the run stops cleanly at the cap, with every delivered row charged exactly once.
