App Store Reviews Scraper — iOS App Reviews by App & Country

Scrape Apple App Store reviews for any iOS app: star rating, review title and text, app version and date, for one or many countries in a single run. Look apps up by name or by numeric App Store ID, and filter by stars (e.g. 1–2★ for complaint mining). The default input is preset with the big AI apps (ChatGPT, Claude, Google Gemini, Grok, Perplexity, Microsoft Copilot), so you can compare AI assistants straight away.

What does this App Store reviews scraper do?

It finds each app with the iTunes Search API, then reads Apple's customer reviews, most recent first (up to 500 reviews per app per country, Apple's limit), using the public RSS feed and falling back to Apple's MZStore reviews endpoint when the feed is empty. Reviewer nicknames are left out by default. No login, browser or proxy is needed.

Why use it?

  • Apple's public review endpoints — no login, no anti-bot evasion
  • Multi-country, multi-app in one run
  • Star filters for complaint mining (1–2★) or praise (5★)
  • Fail-loudly empty-result guard

Data source

Apple iTunes Search API plus App Store customer reviews (RSS when populated; otherwise MZStore userReviewsRow).

Input

  • apps: App names to look up
  • appIds: Numeric App Store IDs
  • countries: Country codes
  • maxPagesPerApp: 1–10 pages of 50
  • minRating / maxRating: Star filter
  • includeReviewerName: Off by default

Example input:

{
"apps": [
"ChatGPT",
"Claude by Anthropic"
],
"countries": [
"us",
"gb"
],
"maxPagesPerApp": 2,
"maxRating": 2
}

Output

Each dataset item looks like this:

{
"appId": "6448311069",
"appName": "ChatGPT",
"country": "gb",
"rating": 5,
"title": "Great",
"text": "I love working with ChatGPT",
"appVersion": "1.2026.272",
"updatedAt": "2026-10-12T22:15:58-07:00"
}

Export as JSON, CSV, Excel or HTML, or pull via the Apify API, webhooks, Make, Zapier, n8n or the Apify MCP server.

How much does it cost?

Pay per event: $0.001 per run + $0.0003 per result (≈ $0.30 per 1,000 results). You are never charged for results on a failed run: if no data is found, the run fails loudly with an explanation instead of returning an empty "success".

Use cases

  • AI product teams tracking user sentiment vs competitors
  • Complaint mining for feature ideas
  • Market research on AI assistants by country
  • Feeding reviews to an LLM for weekly summaries

Scheduling & monitoring

Schedule it daily or weekly in Apify Console and connect a webhook/Slack/email integration to get new items automatically.

FAQ

Is this legal? It uses Apple's public App Store review endpoints and Search API. Reviewer nicknames are excluded by default. No personal data is collected.

Something broke? Open an issue on the Issues tab; the actor is tested daily.

Tips

Tip: track sentiment over time. Schedule a weekly run per app and country and keep the datasets. Grouping by appVersion or week shows how ratings move after each release, for your app and for competitors.
