Public Holidays by Country and Year — Dates and Local Names

Every public holiday for a country and year as flat rows — date, local name, English name, regional scope and type. Free public API, no key.

What you get

date, name, localName, countryCode, global, counties, types, launchYear.

Sample output

{ "date": "2026-01-01", "name": "New Year's Day", "localName": "New Year's Day",
"countryCode": "GB", "global": false, "counties": ["GB-ENG", "GB-SCT"] }

Limitations

  • global: false means the holiday is regional — read counties before treating it as nationwide.
  • Substitute and one-off holidays are included by the source and are not distinguished here.
  • Covers several dozen countries, not every country.
  • Dates are the official published dates; a country can amend them after publication.
