Search filters

  • searchQuery - free text across campaigns
  • categories - e.g. ["technology"], ["games"], ["design"]
  • state - live, successful or failed campaigns
  • sort - newest, most funded, ending soon and similar orders
  • startUrls - scrape specific campaign pages directly
  • maxResults - how many campaigns to save

"categories": ["technology"],
"state": "successful",
"sort": "most_funded",
"maxResults": 100
}

Use cases

  • Market validation - check whether products like yours have been funded, and at what price points
  • Pricing research - study reward tiers across successful campaigns in a category
  • Competitive intelligence - track competitors launching hardware or games before they reach retail
  • Investor and trend research - measure funding volume per category over time
  • Manufacturing and supplier prospecting - find creators who just funded a hardware product and now need production
  • Campaign benchmarking - compare your goal, pledge curve and backer count against comparable projects

Why Kickstarter

Kickstarter publishes the outcome of every campaign, including the ones that failed, together with the exact goal, pledge total and backer count. That makes it one of the few public datasets where demand for a product idea can be measured directly rather than inferred.

Notes

  • percentFunded is derived from pledged against goal; for live campaigns both move between runs.
  • rewardTiers captures the published pledge levels, which is usually where the real pricing research lives.
  • Failed and canceled campaigns stay available, so category analysis can include the full distribution rather than only winners.
  • Configure Apify Proxy for large runs to keep request success rates stable.
