StepStone Job Scraper - Germany, Austria, Netherlands & Belgium

Extract job listings from StepStone, one of the largest job boards in the German-speaking market and a primary channel for professional and management roles. Search by keyword, city and country and export a clean, deduplicated table of open positions with posting date, location and remote-work status.

What you get per job

Real record from a live run (countryCode: DEU, keyword developer):

FieldExample
jobId14437929
titleMachine-Application Platform Developer
companyNameLiebherr-Rostock GmbH
locationRostock, Nenzing
remoteOptionHYBRID
publishedAt2026-09-15T07:21:52.800Z
descriptionposting snippet as shown on the search result card (title, company, teaser text)
jobUrlhttps://www.stepstone.de/stellenangebote--...
sourcehttps://www.stepstone.de
scrapedAt2026-09-16T07:21:52.800Z

Field fill rates from a 75-job run: jobId, title, companyName, location, remoteOption, jobUrl 100%; publishedAt 91% (StepStone shows some postings without a relative date). remoteOption is derived from the home-office badge on the card and is one of ON_SITE, HYBRID or FULL_REMOTE - in practice HYBRID and ON_SITE are far more common than FULL_REMOTE, because StepStone flags "some home office" much more often than "fully remote".

Search filters

  • keywords (required) - job title or skill, e.g. Softwareentwickler, Controller, Data Analyst
  • location - city, e.g. Berlin, Wien, Amsterdam, Antwerpen. Must belong to the selected countryCode - a German city with countryCode: AUT returns zero jobs by design. Leave empty for a nationwide search.
  • countryCode - DEU (stepstone.de), AUT (stepstone.at), NLD (stepstone.nl), BEL (stepstone.be)
  • radiusKm - search radius around the location, 0 to 100
  • maxPages - how many result pages to walk (about 20-25 jobs per page)
  • maxItems - how many jobs to save, up to 5000

Example input

{
"keywords": "Softwareentwickler",
"location": "Berlin",
"countryCode": "DEU",
"radiusKm": 30,
"maxItems": 200
}

Use cases

  • Recruiting and talent sourcing - build a live picture of who is hiring for a role in a region
  • Competitive hiring intelligence - watch a competitor's open roles, locations and growth areas
  • Market entry research - measure demand for a skill before opening an office or a practice
  • Job aggregation - feed a niche board or newsletter with DACH/Benelux vacancies
  • Recruitment agency prospecting - find companies hiring in your specialism, with a contact route through the posting
  • Remote-work trend tracking - compare on-site vs. hybrid vs. fully-remote share over time and by region

Why StepStone

StepStone is where German, Austrian, Dutch and Belgian employers place paid professional listings, so its mix skews toward permanent, qualified roles rather than gig and volume hiring.

Notes, limits and known gaps

  • No salary data. StepStone hides salary ranges behind a "Gehalt anzeigen" (show salary) login wall on every search result card, and the employer-published baseSalary field is absent from almost every job posting we sampled. Earlier versions of this Actor guessed salary numbers from free text and produced nonsense (e.g. "min 3, max 8,000,000"). That field has been removed rather than shipped with invented numbers - if you need salary data, do not trust any Actor that returns it from StepStone's public pages without a logged-in session.
  • Switzerland is not supported. stepstone.ch no longer hosts a job board; it redirects to hotelcareer.ch, an unrelated hospitality site. There is no working StepStone site for Switzerland.
  • No employment-type field (Vollzeit/Teilzeit/Befristet). StepStone does not show this on the search result card at all (only on the individual job page), so earlier heuristic guesses from snippet text matched real values in roughly 0 out of 50 jobs tested. Rather than ship an always-empty field, it has been removed. remoteOption (home-office badge) is the only work-arrangement signal available at listing-page scale.
  • One URL per job, not two. jobUrl is the StepStone posting page; StepStone applications happen on that same page (direct-apply jobs submit via StepStone's own form, no separate external apply link exists in the page markup).
  • Results are deduplicated within a run on job id, falling back to the posting URL.
  • location must be a real city in the country you selected via countryCode; mismatches return zero jobs and the Actor fails with a message explaining why, rather than reporting a silent success with an empty dataset.
  • Runs use Apify's residential proxy with automatic retries, since StepStone intermittently returns HTTP 403 to datacenter IPs and even to some residential sessions.
