Dailymotion Scraper
Dailymotion videos by keyword, channel, playlist or category, with views, duration, tags, category, language and channel details, as clean JSON.
Dailymotion is one of the largest video platforms outside YouTube, home to news broadcasters, sports networks, publishers and millions of creators. This Actor scrapes Dailymotion videos by keyword, channel, playlist or category: title, description, views, recent views, likes, duration, tags, category, language, upload date and channel followers. Filter by date, length, language and country. Search by keyword, or paste a video, channel, playlist, category or search page. Every video comes back with its total views and its views over the last day, week and month, upload and update dates, the embed player link, and the channel that posted it with its follower count and verified badge. There is no login, no API key, and no proxy to configure. Built for media monitoring, publisher and competitor tracking, content research, and anyone who needs video data from beyond YouTube.
⚡ Quick start
{"startUrls": [{ "url": "https://www.dailymotion.com/euronews-en" }],"searchTerms": ["champions league highlights"],"maxItems": 5}
🧩 Input
| Field | Type | Required | Default | Description |
|---|---|---|---|---|
startUrls | array | no | — | dailymotion.com pages: a video (/video/x9wttba), a channel (/euronews-en), a playlist (/playlist/x3rkac), a category (/channel/sport) or a search page (/search/football/videos). Short dai.ly links work too. |
searchTerms | array | no | — | Keywords to search Dailymotion videos for, one per line, for example champions league highlights. |
sortBy | string | no | relevance | Order of search results: relevance, recent, visited (most viewed), visited-month, visited-week or trending. |
dateFrom | string | no | — | Only videos uploaded on or after this date (YYYY-MM-DD). |
dateTo | string | no | — | Only videos uploaded on or before this date (YYYY-MM-DD). |
minDuration | integer | no | — | Only videos longer than this many minutes. |
maxDuration | integer | no | — | Only videos shorter than this many minutes. |
language | string | no | — | Only videos in one language, as a two-letter code such as en, fr or es. |
country | string | no | — | Only videos from one country, as a two-letter code such as US, FR or GB. |
maxItems | integer | no | — | Maximum number of videos per start URL or search term. The input form starts at 5; leave it empty for every video, up to 1,000 per search, channel or category. |
proxyConfiguration | object | no | { "useApifyProxy": false } | Proxy settings. Dailymotion's public video data needs no proxy. |
Add URLs, search terms, or both. A channel page returns that channel's newest videos first, a
category page returns what is trending in that category, and a playlist keeps its own order.
sortBy applies to search terms and search pages. The date, duration, language and country
filters apply to searches, channels and categories, so you can ask for "this channel's French
videos longer than 10 minutes from last month"; playlists and single videos ignore them.
📤 Output
Each video is one dataset row. The channel that posted it is nested under owner, and every row
records where it was found in source (and searchQuery for searches).

💡 Use cases
- Media monitoring — track what broadcasters such as Euronews, AFP or beIN SPORTS publish, and how fast each video gathers views.
- Publisher and competitor tracking — follow channels' upload cadence, categories, languages and follower counts over time.
- Content research — find the most viewed or trending videos on a topic, in one language or country, within a date range.
- Trend analysis — compare last-day, last-week and last-month views to spot videos that are taking off.
- Video catalogs — build lists of embeddable videos with thumbnails, durations and tags for a site or app.
❓ FAQ
- Do I need a Dailymotion account or API key? No. The Actor reads the same public video data anyone can see without logging in.
- Do I need a proxy? No. It runs without one by default.
- How many videos can I get? Up to 1,000 per search, channel or category. That is the most Dailymotion serves for any one listing, however many videos match. To go further, split a search by date (
dateFrom/dateTo), language or country, and run each slice as its own search. - Why are likes mostly 0? Dailymotion barely surfaces likes any more, so most videos have few or none.
viewsand the last-day, week and month view counts are the reliable popularity signals. - Can I scrape private or unlisted videos? No. Only public videos are returned. A video URL that is private, removed or blocked in your region is skipped with a warning.
- Why does the most-recent sort return odd results for broad keywords? Dailymotion's newest-first search puts every fresh upload that mentions the keyword first, and broad terms attract a lot of low-quality uploads. Use
relevance, visitedortrending, or narrow with filters, for cleaner results.
