I set up a limit of 1 with 1 page. But I got back 99 results

I know this might sound weird that why I am just getting 1 comment. The reason is because I am polling for new comments. So only 1 is enough for me to know if there are more comments there. And then I can get bigger number.

But this limit does not seem to work

Also btw the main issue is that polling frequency will be high from our side and so if it's like 100 everytime even after entering 1 it will just not be possible for us to use it.
