New Australian Charities (ACNC Charity Register)

Newly registered Australian charities, straight from the official ACNC charity register: name, ABN, location, size, purposes and beneficiary groups, so you can reach not-for-profits while they are still setting up.

What you get

• One row per newly registered charity, from the ACNC's own weekly register export.

How to use it

1. Set the window: how many days back to look, then narrow by state, size, purpose, beneficiaries or keywords.
2. Run it after the weekly register update, or schedule a weekly run so every new file is checked automatically.
3. Take the results from the dataset tab as CSV, Excel or JSON, or read them through the Apify API into a CRM, spreadsheet or mailing workflow.

Input fields

states	none	Registered address is in one of these states or territories (ACT, NSW, NT, QLD, SA, TAS, VIC, WA). Leave empty for all of them.
sizes	none	Charity is one of these sizes: Small, Medium, Large. Charities with no size recorded are left out when this is set.
purposes	none	Registered for at least one of the 12 purposes on the register (for example Advancing Health, Advancing Education).
beneficiaries	none	Registered as benefiting at least one of the 29 groups on the register (for example Children, Youth, Veterans or their families).
keywords	none	Name, or an other or former name, contains one of these words, case-insensitive. Leave empty for every charity.
maxResults	1000	Stop after this many charities (1–10000). Each one is charged as one result.
failIfEmpty	off	For monitoring: mark the run as failed when nothing is found. Leave off for normal use.

categories holds the register's own flag columns as codes: purposes, beneficiary groups, size, and the states the charity says it operates in, in the register's spelling. Results download as CSV, Excel or JSON.

Pricing

You pay per result: one charity is one result, charged when its row is written. Rows you never receive are not charged for, and the run stops by itself if it reaches the maximum cost per run set on the run.

FAQ

How fresh is the data? The ACNC publishes the whole register about once a week, and each run reads the latest published file. Registration dates lag that cycle, so a charity registered in the last few days may only appear at the next weekly update.

How much does a run cost? You pay only for the rows you receive: one charity, one charge. Set a maximum cost per run and the run stops by itself when it is reached; rows that are never returned are never charged for.

Can I filter by state, size or what the charity does? Yes. Filter by states, sizes, purposes and beneficiary groups, and add keywords for the charity's name. Keywords match names only, not activities.

Is this official data? Yes. It is the ACNC Charity Register, published as the weekly register export on data.gov.au under CC BY 3.0 AU, and every row carries the attribution line.

Does it include contact details or a description of the charity's work? No. The register records the legal name, ABN, address, registration date, size, purposes and beneficiary groups — this Actor outputs exactly those fields, with no email address, phone number or plain-English description.

Is this the whole register? No. It keeps the charities whose registration date falls inside the window you set, so a normal run is new charities only. Set a long window (up to 3650 days) to go further back.

Privacy

Rows are about organisations. The name is the charity's registered legal name, and the address shown is the town, state and postcode from the register — never a street address, a contact person or a phone number.

Limitations

The register is updated weekly and its dates lag that cycle, so charities registered in the last few days may not appear yet; run it again in a week. Some rows leave the Charity_Size column blank (the engine's source notes record about 7,000 of them in the 2026-09-26 file), and those charities are missing from any size-filtered run. Rows without a usable ABN or a readable registration date are left out. published is the date the charity became registered, not a trading date. Keywords match the legal name and any other or former names, not what the charity does. The register is a snapshot of the current record, not a list of changes. When the list is longer than maxResults, the run stops at the limit and the rest are neither returned nor charged for.
