How to scrape Google Play reviews

1. Click Try for free (or Start).
2. Add apps: a Google Play URL, a package name such as com.duolingo, or an app name such as Duolingo.
3. Set Max reviews per app, the sort order, and optionally a star range, country and language.
4. Click Start. 100 reviews take a few seconds. Download JSON, CSV or Excel, or use the API.
5. For monitoring, tick Only new reviews and schedule the Actor daily.

The Run summary (key-value store OUTPUT) lists each app with its review count and average rating.

How much does it cost?

$0.08 per 1,000 reviews on Apify's Free plan, and less on paid plans. Apps that can't be found and reviews already returned by earlier runs (Only new reviews) are free. Apify's free $5 monthly credit covers over 60,000 reviews.

Review monitoring: Only new reviews

Tick Only new reviews and schedule the Actor, for example daily. Each run returns only the reviews that earlier runs with the same app, country and sort didn't return, and stops paging as soon as it reaches reviews it has seen. Add a Slack, email or webhook integration to get new 1-star reviews as they arrive.

FAQ

How many reviews can I get? Thousands per app for popular apps; the Actor pages through Google Play until it reaches your limit or the last review.

Can I get reviews in other languages and countries? Yes. Set language (en, de, es, fr, pt, ja, …) and country (us, gb, de, in, br, …).

Does it include the developer's replies? Yes, replyText and replyDate whenever the developer replied.

Can I get App Store reviews too? Yes, paste App Store URLs or IDs and set the App Store countries. The Actor reads the review API behind apps.apple.com, so it goes past the 500-review limit of Apple's public feed. There is also a dedicated App Store Reviews Scraper.

Is it legal to scrape Google Play reviews? Reviews are public, but they include reviewers' display names. Use the data for analysis and follow the privacy laws that apply to you, such as GDPR.
