App Store & Google Play Reviews Scraper

Scrape App Store and Google Play reviews for many apps and countries in one run, into one flat schema ready for sentiment analysis, ASO and competitor research. No login, no API key.

What does App Store & Google Play Reviews Scraper do?

  • Collect iOS (Apple App Store) and Android (Google Play) reviews in the same run; the store is detected from each URL or package name.
  • Pull reviews per country (us, gb, de, jp...) and, for Google Play, per language.
  • Get the newest reviews or the most helpful/relevant ones (sort).
  • Return rating, review text, app version, date, thumbs-up count and the developer reply (Google Play).
  • Filter with minDate to fetch only reviews newer than your last run.

Why use it

  • Two stores, one schema: no separate actors or field mapping for iOS vs Android.
  • Multi-app, multi-country in a single run.
  • Low price: $0.50 per 1,000 reviews, billed only for reviews returned.
  • No login, no API key, no proxy to configure.
  • Incremental monitoring with minDate and Apify schedules.

Use cases

  • ASO and product teams tracking what users complain about after each release.
  • Competitor review mining: feature requests and pain points of rival apps.
  • Sentiment analysis and LLM classification of review text.
  • Release-regression alerts: join reviews to the version field.
  • Customer-support dashboards fed by a daily scheduled run.

How to use

  1. Open the Actor on Apify and click Try for free (or call it through the API).
  2. Paste App Store URLs, Google Play URLs or package names into Apps and pick the countries.
  3. Click Start, then download the dataset as JSON, CSV, Excel or HTML, or read it through the API.

Integrations & API

Run it from code with the Apify API. Replace <APIFY_TOKEN> with your API token.

Python (pip install apify-client)

from apify_client import ApifyClient
client = ApifyClient("<APIFY_TOKEN>")
run = client.actor("bachiembmt/app-store-play-reviews").call(run_input={"apps": ["https://apps.apple.com/us/app/whatsapp-messenger/id310633997", "com.whatsapp"], "countries": ["us"], "maxReviewsPerApp": 100, "sort": "newest"})
for item in client.dataset(run["defaultDatasetId"]).iterate_items():
print(item)

cURL (run synchronously and get dataset items)

curl -X POST "https://api.apify.com/v2/acts/bachiembmt~app-store-play-reviews/run-sync-get-dataset-items?token=<APIFY_TOKEN>" \
-H "Content-Type: application/json" \
-d '{"apps": ["https://apps.apple.com/us/app/whatsapp-messenger/id310633997", "com.whatsapp"], "countries": ["us"], "maxReviewsPerApp": 100, "sort": "newest"}'

Works with:

  • Make and Zapier: use the Apify app/module to run this Actor and pass the dataset on.
  • n8n: use the Apify node or an HTTP Request node with the API call above.
  • Google Sheets: export the dataset as CSV, or use the Apify integration to append rows automatically.
  • Webhooks: trigger your own endpoint when a run finishes; combine with Apify schedules for recurring jobs.
  • AI agents: expose the Actor as a tool through the Apify MCP server.

FAQ

How many reviews can I get per app? Apple exposes about 500 recent reviews per app and country through its public feed; Google Play depends on the app and the limit you set. maxReviewsPerApp applies per app and country.

Do I get developer replies? Yes for Google Play (developerReply, replyDate). Apple's public feed does not include them.

Do I need an account or API key for the source? No. The Actor needs no login or source API key. You only need an Apify account to run it.

Is it legal to scrape this data? Only publicly visible review data is collected. Review authors are public display names; if you store or process personal data, comply with GDPR/CCPA and the stores' terms. This is general information, not legal advice.

Limitations

  • Apple: uses Apple's public customer-reviews RSS feed, which exposes at most ~500 most recent reviews per app and country (10 pages x 50). Developer replies are not in this feed. Some apps return an empty feed even though they have reviews.
  • Google Play: via the google-play-scraper library; Google may change its internal format, which can temporarily break scraping.
  • Requests are throttled to about 1 per second, so large runs take time.
  • Only publicly visible review data is collected.
