What can you do with this Actor?

Simply provide:

the type of business you are looking for

an Italian city or location

the maximum number of results you want

The Actor collects available business listings, normalizes the data, applies conservative deduplication, and saves the resulting leads to the Apify Dataset.

For example, you can search for:

ristoranti in Roma

dentisti in Milano

idraulici in Torino

avvocati in Napoli

hotel in Firenze

parrucchieri in Bologna

and many other business categories available in the source.

This makes it useful for building local business lead lists and structured business directory data for the Italian market.

When available, each business lead can include:

Lead completeness score

Not every field is available for every company. The Actor only returns information that is publicly available from the source.

Filter the business leads you actually need

You can request only businesses that contain specific contact information.

Available filters include:

Email

Official website

WhatsApp

Mobile phone

For example, if you request 100 results with email addresses, the Actor attempts to collect 100 business leads that actually contain at least one email address.

It does not simply take the first 100 listings and remove those without email afterward.

This is particularly useful when creating a targeted B2B contact database or preparing prospecting lists for sales campaigns.

Result sorting

Two sorting modes are available.

Data completeness

Businesses with more useful information are shown first.

The score can take into account data such as:

email

official website

mobile phone

WhatsApp

VAT number

reviews

other available business information

This mode is recommended for B2B lead generation and sales prospecting.

Search relevance

Keeps the original source order as much as possible.

Use this mode when the original relevance of the search results is more important than contact completeness.

Smart geographic search

When the location clearly corresponds to an Italian municipality, the Actor restricts the results to that municipality.

For example:

Location: Roma

returns businesses located in Rome, rather than automatically including nearby municipalities such as Frascati, Ciampino, or Albano Laziale.

For larger searches, the Actor may use multiple postal-code areas to discover more businesses and distribute the results more effectively across the requested city.

This helps produce more geographically consistent local business leads.

Conservative deduplication

Local business directories can contain duplicate or very similar listings.

The Actor applies conservative deduplication to avoid returning the same business multiple times when there is enough evidence that two records represent the same company.

However, different businesses are not automatically merged just because they share:

the same address

the same phone number

the same website

This prevents legitimate businesses from being removed incorrectly.

For example, a hotel and its internal restaurant may share an address and phone number while still being separate businesses.

Phone numbers separated by type

When possible, phone numbers are classified into separate fields:

{ "landlinePhones": [], "mobilePhones": [], "whatsappPhones": [], "faxNumbers": [] }

This makes it easier to distinguish between landline numbers, mobile contacts, WhatsApp numbers, and fax numbers.

For users performing local lead generation, this can be especially useful when mobile or WhatsApp contacts are required.

Official websites, social profiles, and booking links

The Actor attempts to distinguish the official business website from other external links.

Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, TikTok, YouTube, X, TheFork, and booking platforms are stored in their respective fields instead of being incorrectly classified as official websites.

This produces cleaner business contact data that can be used in CRM systems, prospecting workflows, and company databases.

Opening hours and "Open now"

When available, the Dataset can include:

{ "isOpenNow": false, "openingHours": { "monday": [ "09:00 - 13:00", "14:30 - 19:30" ] } }

Open now indicates whether the source reports the business as open at the moment the search is performed.

It does not indicate whether the company is legally active, inactive, closed permanently, or bankrupt.

If this information is unavailable, the value may be empty or null.

API and automation

The Actor can also be executed through the Apify API and integrated into automated workflows.

You can use it to:

periodically update an Italian business database

build a business contact database

collect new sales prospects

feed business data into a CRM

create local business lead lists

automatically export leads to other systems

create workflows with Make, Zapier, or other Apify-compatible integrations

process the results with custom scripts and applications

The same options available in the Actor interface can be provided through Input JSON.

Market research

Business directory data

Data quality

The Actor includes multiple processing steps designed to improve the quality of the final Dataset:

data normalization

landline, mobile, WhatsApp, and fax separation

official website and social profile separation

conservative duplicate removal

municipality-level geographic filtering

distributed collection across postal-code areas when necessary

automatic handling of temporary source errors

lead completeness scoring

quality-based result sorting

filters applied before final delivery

The goal is to provide usable business lead data, rather than simply returning raw directory listings.

Why might you receive fewer results than requested?

The Actor attempts to reach the requested maximum number of results, but fewer records may be returned when:

the source does not contain enough businesses matching the search

the selected filters are too restrictive

there are not enough valid matching records

the spending limit configured for the Run is reached

some source pages are temporarily unavailable

The Dataset contains only business records that were successfully retrieved and validated.

Pricing

This Actor uses the Pay Per Event pricing model.

The main billable event is a Business Lead.

A lead is charged when it has been successfully processed, saved, and delivered to the Dataset.

The current price is always displayed directly on the Actor page in Apify Store.
