FAQ
Where does the data come from? From the public WFIGS ArcGIS feed published by NIFC. It is US government data and generally in the public domain. You are responsible for how you use the data. How fresh is it? The current feed is refreshed from the source on each run; upstream delays apply. History covers 2014 to today. Does it include fire perimeters? This version returns point locations. Perimeter polygons are on the roadmap. Is this tool run by the data agency? No. BigSky Data Tools is independent and not affiliated with or endorsed by NIFC. Do not use it for life-safety decisions; follow local authorities.
