YouTube Shorts
Extract public YouTube Shorts from either a channel's Shorts tab or a Shorts-only keyword search.
Input
mode:channelorsearch.inputs: 1–20 channel IDs/@handles/channel URLs, or 1–20 search keywords depending on mode.maxShorts: maximum unique Shorts per input, up to 1000.
Output
Each successful row contains source type, search query when applicable, channel identity when available, video ID, canonical /shorts/ URL, title, view-count text, and retrieval timestamp.
Billing
PPE event: short-result.
Each Short is charged only after its dataset row is successfully written. A hard source-level failure writes one diagnostic FAILED row and produces no PPE event. The Actor code does not add a separate start charge.
Scope
This Actor focuses only on channel/search → Shorts. It does not return generic long-form search results, transcripts, comments, or playlist catalogs.
Reliability and cost controls
maxShortslimits each source;maxTotalResultslimits the whole run (default 1,000, maximum 10,000).- Temporary provider failures are retried once. A later-page failure preserves earlier Short rows and reports a partial result.
- Rows are charged only after storage. Failed/skipped sources and retries are free.
Family recipes
Use Shorts for channel- or keyword-based short-form research; combine with Search for discovery and Transcript or Comments for deeper analysis of selected videos.
