France Company Check – Finances, Insolvency, Public Contracts

Check French companies in bulk before you sign, sell on credit or pick a supplier. Give a list of SIREN, SIRET, French VAT numbers or company names. Each company comes back as one profile built from three official open-data sources:

• Identity: name, VAT number, activity (NAF), size, age, head office, active or ceased.
• Finances: latest revenue and net income, history by year, revenue growth.
• Insolvency: safeguard, receivership or liquidation from the BODACC, with the latest judgement.
• Legal notices: counts by type (sales, changes, deregistration…) and the latest notices with links.
• Public contracts won: number, total notified amount and the latest contracts with the buyer's name.
• Risk flag: low, medium or high, with the reasons (insolvency_proceedings, net_loss, revenue_drop_over_30pct, ceased…).

No scraping of private websites: only official APIs published under the Licence Ouverte (Etalab), which allows commercial reuse. Every result lists its sources.

Who is it for?

• Sales and credit teams: check a prospect or a customer before offering payment terms.
• Procurement: vet suppliers and subcontractors, and see which public contracts they already won.
• Debt collection and legal: spot insolvency proceedings before starting a claim.
• Data teams and CRMs: enrich company records with finances, VAT number and a risk flag.

Tips

• A SIREN, SIRET or VAT number always finds the exact company. A name returns the best match: check the siren in the result.
• Companies that are not found are not charged. They are listed in the SKIPPED record of the key-value store.

Pricing

Pay per result: you are charged once per company checked. Companies not found or skipped are free.

Privacy

• Sole proprietorships are never profiled: they are people, so they are skipped.
• Company officers are not returned.
• Insolvency judgements keep only their type and date: the free text, which can name people, is dropped.

Limits

• Financial figures are those published by the company: many small companies keep their accounts confidential (flag no_published_financials).
• Public contracts cover notices published since 2024 in the national DECP dataset. For framework agreements the notified amount is a ceiling, often shared by several winners, so totalNotifiedAmount is an upper bound, not revenue.
• vatNumber is computed from the SIREN (official formula). Check it on the EU VIES service if you need proof that it is active.
• The same company given twice (for example as SIREN and VAT number) is checked and charged once.
• The risk flag is a simple indicator built from public records, not a credit score.
