Taiwan Convertible Bonds (可轉債行情與轉換條件) API
Daily bars for every convertible and exchangeable bond on the Taipei Exchange, joined to the terms that make them tradeable — conversion price, conversion window, put date and put price, coupon and outstanding balance — as structured JSON.
Convertible bond arbitrage is a real strategy in Taiwan and there is no free API for it. The exchange publishes the pieces, but it publishes them in four places that nobody joins: the prices are a per-bond query, the terms are an open-data download, the put schedule is its own statistics table, and the delistings are a fifth page. A price without a conversion price and a put date is not tradeable information. This Actor returns all of it on one row.
Why this data matters
Measured on the exchange's own 2026-09-25 snapshot, not estimated:
- Every single listed Taiwan convertible is a zero-coupon bond. All 388 of them. The conversion option is the entire return, which is why the put price and put date are not footnotes — they are the only floor under the instrument. 261 of the 388 carry a put date.
- The put is the trade. A zero-coupon bond that can be sold back to the issuer at 100 or above on a known date has a computable yield-to-put. That is what the arbitrage is priced off, and it is why this Actor carries the put terms from two independent official tables and tells you when they disagree.
- 16.1% of the market has already turned into equity. NT$389.9bn issued against NT$327.0bn still outstanding, with 184 of 388 bonds partially converted. Issue amount minus outstanding is the cleanest free read on how far conversion has run — i.e. how much dilution has already landed.
- Ignoring the negotiated session loses a sixth of the market. In September 2026 the negotiated (議價) session was 16.5% of turnover across the bonds sampled, from just 27 of 1,106 rows. Those are a handful of very large trades, and a feed that merges or drops them misprices the day.
- Most of the board trades above par, and some of it far above. Of 1,079 matched sessions in September 2026, 897 closed above 100; the median close was 117.95 and the highest 715.00. A convertible at 715 is an equity proxy with a bond's downside — which only makes sense next to its conversion price.
- One in five is guaranteed. 74 of 388 listed bonds are 有擔保, the rest unsecured — a credit distinction the price alone will not tell you.
Output
One dataset, four record types, told apart by record_type. A real quote row — 中砂二 on the day it printed in both sessions:
{"record_type": "quote","date": "2026-09-10","bond_code": "15602","bond_short_name": "中砂二","issuer_code": "1560","issuer_name": "中砂","trading_mode": "matched","close": 131.7,"change": -2.3,"open": 133.1,"high": 133.15,"low": 131.0,"trades": 418,"units": 3376,"face_value_traded": 337600000,"turnover": 447837850,"average_price": 132.74,"average_price_recomputed": 132.74,"average_price_difference": 0.0,"average_price_matches": true,"conversion_price_at_issuance": 708.3,"conversion_period_start": "2026-12-04","conversion_period_end": "2029-09-03","maturity_date": "2029-09-03","put_option_date": null,"put_option_price": null,"coupon_rate": 0.0,"outstanding_amount": 1000000000,"is_guaranteed": false,"quality_flags": []}
And the terms row for 台泥一永, every field of which is confirmed against the issuer's own MOPS filing:
{"record_type": "bond","bond_code": "11011","bond_short_name": "台泥一永","issuer_code": "1101","issuer_name": "台泥","issue_date": "2024-12-10","maturity_date": "2029-12-10","tenor_years": 5,"issue_amount": 8000000000,"outstanding_amount": 8000000000,"converted_or_redeemed_amount": 0,"coupon_rate": 0.0,"conversion_price_at_issuance": 36.5,"conversion_period_start": "2025-03-11","conversion_period_end": "2029-12-10","put_option_date": "2027-12-10","put_option_price": 100.0,"is_guaranteed": false,"listing_status": "otc_listed","is_delisted": false,"quality_flags": []}
The other two record types are put_option — the exchange's forward put window, every put falling due in roughly the next seven months, with the yield it implies — and delisting, the bonds that have left the board.
Units and quotation, stated once
Convertible bonds are not quoted like shares and getting this wrong silently scales every number:
| Meaning | |
|---|---|
close, open, high, low, average_price | Per NT$100 of face value. 102.00 means 102% of par, not NT$102. |
units | Trading units of NT$100,000 face each — the exchange's 單位 column. Not shares, not lots of 1,000. |
face_value_traded | units × 100,000 — the par amount that changed hands. |
turnover | What was actually paid, in whole NT$. |
conversion_price_at_issuance | NT$ per underlying share — a share price, on a different scale from every other price here. |
So turnover = units × price × 1,000, and that is the identity the verification below is built on.
Verification
Prices that cannot be reconciled are not published. Three checks run on every session:
- The average price is rebuilt from the exchange's own columns. The report's footnote defines 平均價 as total consideration over total shares across both trading modes, and it is exactly that, truncated rather than rounded: for 15602 on 2026-09-10 the matched and negotiated legs together are NT$785,585,850 over 5,918 units — 132.7451 per 100 of face — and the exchange prints 132.74. Turnover and units are both published as exact integers, so a correct reading reproduces the official figure to the cent. Across 130 bonds over September 2026, 1,079 of 1,079 sessions reproduced it exactly. A mismatch fails the run rather than publishing the row, because the only thing that breaks this identity is a column read out of position.
- Every price falls inside the session's own high and low. Close, open and average are each checked against the range the exchange published on the same row. A failure means the columns are misaligned, and again nothing is published.
- The change column chains to the previous close. Checked only across back-to-back sessions, and for a good reason: the exchange computes 漲跌 against the previous day's reference price, which for a bond that did not trade is not the last traded close. 11011 prints on 2026-09-01 at 102.00 and next on the 4th at 101.50 showing −0.30, which does not chain and is not meant to. Over adjacent pairs it holds.
Independently of the arithmetic, the terms were cross-checked against a different agency's system: for 台泥一永, MOPS confirms the issue and maturity dates, the 5-year tenor, NT$8bn issued and outstanding, the zero coupon, the unsecured status, the conversion period 114/03/11–118/12/10 and the put on 116/12/10 at 100% — thirteen fields, all matching.
Two of the exchange's codes are published with no key at all. Rather than guess, both were decoded by cross-check and the raw value is kept alongside: is_guaranteed agrees with whether the issuer's own full bond name says 有擔保 or 無擔保 for all 388 listed bonds with no exceptions, and the 388 rows carrying listing status 2 are exactly the 388 rows of the exchange's own "recently listed convertibles" table. Codes that are genuinely undocumented — currency, offering method — are passed through as currency_code and offering_method_code rather than invented.
Where the official sources disagree
They do, and this Actor does not pretend otherwise. On 2026-09-26 the forward put window and the issuance master both carried put terms for 35 bonds: 33 agreed to the cent, 44163 (三圓三) differed by exactly 0.50 on the put price, and 45421 (科嶠一) was in the put window but absent from the master because it had delisted eight days earlier.
Neither number is overwritten. Both are published — put_price and master_put_price on the same row — and the row is flagged. Adjudicating between two official tables is not something a scraper is in a position to do, and silently picking one would hide the disagreement from the only person who can resolve it.
The delisting case is the same feed behaving consistently rather than a fault: the issuance master carries outstanding bonds only, so a bond that leaves the board drops out of it. Those bonds are still emitted, from the delisting feed, with terms null and a flag saying why — rather than vanishing from the dataset.
What you can ask for
recordTypes— any ofquotes,bonds,put_options,delistings. The last three are one request each and return the whole board.startDate/endDate— the quote range. The exchange serves a whole calendar month per request and the output is trimmed to your range, so a single week costs the same as the month around it.bondCodes— e.g.11011,15602,811211. Note that a bond code is the issuer's code plus the tranche number, so it is usually five characters but runs to six from an issuer's tenth convertible on (至上11 is811211, 岳豐十 is622010). Anything that assumes five characters will silently drop those.issuerCodes— e.g.1101, when you know the equity but not the bond. An issuer can have several convertibles outstanding at once.includeNegotiated— off gives you a single continuous matched series; on (the default) keeps the negotiated session as separate rows.includePrivatePlacements— the master also carries privately placed convertibles, which have no market and often no code. Off by default.maxRequests— a cap, because quotes cost one request per bond per month. A month of the whole board is about 390.
Limitations, stated plainly
conversion_price_at_issuanceis the issuance figure, not today's strike. Most Taiwan convertibles reset their conversion price downward over their life after dividends or a falling share price, and this feed does not publish the current level. Treat it as the original term. This is the single most important caveat here — a premium computed against it is a premium against the bond's history, not its present.- The terms feeds are current-state snapshots, not histories. They describe the board as of the run. Only the quotes go back in time.
- Delisted bonds keep their code but lose their terms, because the master drops them. You get the code, name and delisting date.
- Coupon schedules are published only as per-year CSV downloads (轉(交)換債債息對照表, 21 files back to 1998) and are not parsed here. Given every listed convertible is a zero-coupon bond, there is nothing in them for the current board.
- Warrant bonds (附認股權公司債) have no data. The exchange's endpoint for them exists and returns a single empty row, so the scope here is convertible and exchangeable bonds — which is the whole of the traded market.
- A quiet bond is normal. Thinly traded convertibles go months without a print, and 16 of the 130 bonds sampled did not trade at all in September 2026. An empty result for one bond is not an error; an empty result for the whole board is, and fails the run.
Source
Taipei Exchange (證券櫃檯買賣中心), four official feeds: bond/cbDayQry for the daily bars, bond_ISSBD5_data for the issuance master, bond/putProvision for the forward put window and bond/convDelist for delistings. Every Taiwan convertible trades on the Taipei Exchange regardless of where its underlying equity is listed, so TWSE-listed issuers such as 台泥 appear here too.
