Encar Scraper | Korea Used Car Prices, Mileage, Maker & Data (no API)

Scrape Encar, Korea's largest used-car marketplace: maker, model, year, mileage, price (KRW), fuel type, seller region and Encar certification badges. Uses Encar's public JSON API — no login, no API key, no token. Type makers in English or Korean, or leave blank for the newest listings. Export clean snake_case structured data (JSON / CSV / Excel).

Great for: cross-border dealer sourcing, Korea used-car market analysis, price comparison, import-car procurement intelligence, market monitoring.

Missing values are null; fields are never dropped. Prices reflect what Encar shows (excl. taxes/fees).

Detail mode (v1.1)

Pass mode: "detail" + carIds (car IDs, usually the car_id from search output). Billed $0.008 each, returning far more than the listing:

Extra fields: vin, vehicle_no (plate), grade/grade_en, displacement_cc, transmission, color, seat_count, body_type, origin_price_manwon (new-car price), accident_record_available/resume_record_available, seizure_count/pledge_count (0 = clean), is_diagnosis_car, seller_type/seller_id/seller_address/seller_phone, view_count/subscribe_count, image_urls (all photos), option_codes, description.

Notes

• Makers accept English or Korean: a built-in map resolves Hyundai↔현대, Benz↔벤츠, KGM↔KG모빌리티(쌍용), etc. Uncatalogued makers pass through verbatim (searched across all car types).
• carType only applies when maker is blank: when a maker is given, its car type is auto-detected (domestic makers search 국산, import makers 수입), so you never hit the empty "Hyundai + import" combination.
• Price is in KRW: price_manwon is Encar's native 만원 unit; price_krw is the KRW conversion for convenience.
• maxItems is per maker: 3 makers × 50 = up to 150 rows. A car appearing under two queries is output once.
• Model filtering: Encar's model field is an exact string (e.g. 올 뉴 K3) and error-prone, so v1.0 omits it; planned for v1.1 alongside detail mode.
• Listings are a snapshot: the live Encar page is authoritative.

FAQ

Q: Do I need an Encar account or API key? No. Only public search results are scraped — no login or token required.

Q: Can I scrape imported cars? Yes. Enter BMW, Benz, Audi, Tesla, etc. (English or Korean), or use carType: "import" for all imports.

Q: What's the price unit? price_krw is Korean won (KRW). price_manwon keeps Encar's native 만원 unit.

Q: Can I get full spec and accident history? Search mode returns structured listing fields; full spec, options and accident/service history ship in detail mode (v1.1).

Q: How is it billed? Pay per event (PPE): $0.005 per run start + $0.002 per car. You are only charged after data is successfully stored.
