Bulk-validate EU VAT numbers against the European Commission's official VIES service. Get valid/invalid, registered name and address, and a consultation number.

Validate EU VAT numbers in bulk against VIES, the European Commission's official VAT Information Exchange System. You get validity, the registered trader name and address (where the member state shares them), the request date and, if you provide your own VAT number, a consultation number you can keep as audit evidence for zero-rated B2B invoices.

Uses: e-commerce and SaaS checkout reverse-charge checks, onboarding/KYB for marketplaces, cleaning ERP/CRM supplier master data, periodic re-validation of customer VAT IDs (schedule it monthly).

Pricing note

You are charged only for numbers that VIES confirms are valid. Invalid numbers, malformed input and member-state outages (MS_UNAVAILABLE, which we retry with backoff) are free.

Notes

VIES queries national databases live; some states (e.g. DE) do not return name and address. Requests are sent sequentially with a delay, following VIES capacity guidance. The European Commission accepts no responsibility for VIES accuracy, so keep your own records for tax audits. Not affiliated with the European Commission.
