Better understanding "search"

Hashtag search is clear that you look for the match between provided keyword and hashtags. But, hashtags are a miss n hit sometimes.
So, was quite intrigued to see the search sorting field. But, unable to understand how it works - do you search for it in the "content spoken" inside the video? What does seach for top content mean? If selected user then it matches the keyword to user profile names?
I am interested in searching for top videos (in a country) for a certain industry (say shoes) that are trending currently. What's the best way to do this?
How do I be sure that these are top results and ideally what audience in that country is watching?

Hi. The search is basically using TikTok's search bar. I am not really familiar how it works internally for them and assume it's a match both based on the content spoken, video description, tags added etc
Regarding search sorting, it might be not the most fit name, it's rather a filter. And again, this is what you can see directly on Tiktok's website (see the screenshot). From what I can say, Top/Video categories are mostly identical, so you may choose any of them.
As for country-based search, this could be implemented via proxies, but not supported yet and might be added in the future
