Spain Drought & Water Scarcity Monitor (Sequía/Escasez)
Pricing
from $4.00 / 1,000 sequia-indicator-records
Check Spain's current drought and water scarcity status by river basin (UTS/UTE) or district — drought monitor, sequía tracker, water scarcity index, escasez de agua lookup. Saves parsing MITECO's monthly PDF report into structured records and computing the trend. From $0.004/record (PPE).
Include the 'sequía prolongada' indicator per Unidad Territorial de Sequía (UTS) — the natural, non-demand-driven drought index.
Include the 'escasez coyuntural' indicator per Unidad Territorial de Escasez (UTE) — the demand-related water scarcity index (storage, groundwater, flow gauges).
Include the aggregated 'GLOBAL SEQUÍA'/'GLOBAL ESCASEZ' indicator per demarcación hidrográfica (river basin district), in addition to the individual UTS/UTE records.
Return only indicators with a comparable previous month and a decrease greater than 0.02. A PES transition without comparable history is not a worsening event.
Save current provisional MITECO reservoir capacity, reserve and fill percentages separately as RESERVAS_EMBALSES. Uses its own observation date and region filter, not the drought reporting month or trend filter. No additional enrichment event is charged.
Save report-wide source quotations separately as MENCIONES_ESCENARIOS. Includes context, negations and historical mentions; not an official classification of individual units. Not region-filtered. No additional enrichment event is charged.
Only return records whose demarcación (river basin district) or unidad (UTS/UTE) name contains one of these terms (case- and accent-insensitive), e.g. ["jucar", "segura"]. Leave empty for all of Spain.
[]Maximum number of records to return (1-3000). The full report typically yields ~270-280 records across all demarcaciones.
