Carousels (multi-photo or multi-video posts) come back as type: "album" with an items array and no top-level download_url - check type first.

Failed links do not stop the run - they appear as { "ok": false, "inputUrl": "...", "error": "..." } and are not billed.

FAQ

Do I need an Instagram account or cookies?

No. You only paste public Instagram links. Login, proxies, cookies and bot checks are handled for you.

Can I download Instagram stories?

Yes. Paste a story or highlight link (instagram.com/stories/...). Stories are billed at the story rate shown in Pricing.

Which links work?

Posts (/p/), reels (/reel/, /reels/), IGTV (/tv/), carousels, stories and highlights. Private accounts are not supported.

How long do download links stay valid?

Instagram CDN links are temporary (usually several hours). Download the file soon after the run or re-run the actor.

Is it legal to download content from social media?

The actor only accesses publicly available content. Respect copyright and each platform's terms: download content you own, have permission to use, or use under fair use. Do not redistribute other people's content without permission.

Something does not work?
