Everything the registry knows about a domain, in one call. Registration age, expiry countdown, registrar, status flags, nameservers, and DNSSEC — pulled over RDAP, the structured HTTPS protocol that replaced port-43 WHOIS. Clean JSON, no scraping, no rate-limit roulette.

What you get

{
"domain": "example.com",
"registered": true,
"age_days": 9847,
"expires": "2027-08-13T04:00:00Z",
"expiry_days": 366,
"registrar": "RESERVED-Internet Assigned Numbers Authority",
"statuses": ["client delete prohibited"],
"nameservers": ["a.iana-servers.net", "b.iana-servers.net"],
"dnssec": true,
"issues": ["Domain registration looks healthy."]
}

It flags what matters for risk and trust decisions: newly-registered domains (a classic fraud and phishing signal), imminent expiry, hold / pending-delete states, missing nameservers, and absent DNSSEC.

Use cases

  • Lead and vendor qualification: a domain registered three weeks ago is a very different counterparty than one registered in 2004.
  • Fraud and abuse triage: domain age and status are first-line signals for agents screening inbound links, senders, or partners.
  • Portfolio expiry monitoring: schedule it across your domains and never lose one to a missed renewal.

Honesty notes

  • Uses the public RDAP bootstrap (rdap.org); a small number of TLDs do not publish RDAP, in which case the run says so.
  • An unregistered domain returns registered: false — a completed, charged lookup (that is the answer). A malformed domain is rejected free.
