1688 Supplier Ratings Scraper: a seller's scorecard without an account

Give it a product keyword and get one row per seller behind those listings: the composite score out of 5, the five sub-scores underneath it, the repeat-buyer rate, years on the platform, whether 1688 classes them as a factory or a trader, which audits they have passed, and where they are. Or name a company directly and look that one up.

One thing shapes everything here: only paying 1688 members show up in search at all. So this tells you how a listed seller compares with other listed sellers, not whether a company exists.

InputProduct keywords, or exact 1688 company names
OutputOne row per supplier
Ceiling1,000 suppliers per run
Account neededNone, and no API key
Price$0.40 per 1,000 suppliers, flat on every plan

🏢 What 1688 Supplier Ratings Scraper does

Three ways in.

Product keywords. One per line. Every distinct seller whose listings match comes back once, with their scorecard and the listing that matched. Chinese reaches far more inventory than English: 手机壳 returns millions of offers where phone case returns a few thousand. Both work.

Company names. The exact name as 1688 prints it on the store page, in Chinese, like 东莞市元拓橡塑制品有限公司. One per line.

Search URLs. Paste a 1688 search page and the keyword is read out of it.

Store URLs do not work, and the row that comes back says why: 1688 publishes no supplier lookup, and the seller-id parameters it accepts in search are ignored, so a b2b-… id cannot be turned back into a company.

Run it with everything empty and you get one labelled sample row.

📤 What you get back

A real supplier row from a recent run for 手机壳.

FieldWhat it is
rating, ratingScale, ratingBreakdownThe composite score out of 5, and the five parts behind it: listing accuracy, logistics, responsiveness, dispute handling and after-sales.
repeatBuyerRate, repeatBuyerRatePercentHow much of their business comes back, as the string 1688 prints and as a number.
businessType, businessTypeEnglish, isManufacturerFactory, wholesaler, distributor or agent, in Chinese and in English.
hasFactoryAudit, hasBusinessAuditWhether 1688 has inspected the plant, and whether the business licence was checked.
serviceTags, buyerProtectionsThe badges and guarantees on the store, with an English reading of each alongside.
matchedProductThe listing that matched your keyword, with its price, MOQ, units sold and enquiry count. These numbers describe that one listing, not the whole shop.
matchedBy, productsMatchedInThisRunWhether the row came from a keyword or a name lookup, and how many of that seller's listings your search hit.
supplierUrl, supplierLoginIdA link to their 1688 storefront and their account handle.

🧾 Reading the output

Three kinds of row can land in your dataset.

RowHow to spot it
A supplierIt has a supplierId and a rating
The sample rowWritten only when the input was empty
A diagnosticIt carries an errorCode

Diagnostic rows are never charged, and neither are suppliers your filters dropped.

CodeWhat it means
BAD_INPUTThat entry cannot be used. A store URL lands here, with the reason on the row.
SUPPLIER_NOT_FOUNDThat company name did not turn up in the results. The row lists up to five names it did see, so you can check the spelling.
ALL_FILTERED_OUTResults came back, but your rating or factory filter rejected all of them.
ALL_DUPLICATESEvery seller on that page had already been returned earlier in the run.
NO_RESULTSNothing matched that keyword.
LOOKUP_FAILED1688 answered, but not with the data it normally carries.
BLOCKED1688 stopped answering and the run ended there.
PROXY_GROUP_IGNOREDPart of your proxyConfiguration could not be used as given. An address of your own that cannot be used is skipped, and the row gives its position in your list. If none can be used, nothing is looked up.

▶️ How to run it

  1. Open 1688 Supplier Ratings Scraper and click Try for free.
  2. Put your product keywords into Product keywords, in Chinese if you can.
  3. Set Maximum suppliers to what you actually want.
  4. Click Start.
  5. Download the dataset as JSON, CSV or Excel, or read it from the Apify API.

To check one company instead, leave the keywords empty and paste its exact Chinese name into Supplier company names.

💰 How much does it cost?

$0.40 per 1,000 suppliers. Flat on every Apify plan, no volume tiers.

One row is one supplier, however many of their listings your keyword hit. The sample row, every diagnostic row and every supplier dropped by minRating or Manufacturers only are not charged, and a keyword that finds nothing produces no supplier rows to pay for.

💡 What people use it for

  • Vetting a supplier before sending a sample order, using the sub-scores rather than the headline.
  • Building a factory-only shortlist for a product, then comparing repeat-buyer rates.
  • Checking responsiveness before committing to a long negotiation, since it is often the weakest of the five.
  • Finding who actually manufactures a category rather than who resells it.
  • Recording a scorecard on a schedule to see whether a supplier's ratings are slipping.

🚧 What it does not do

  • Only paying members appear. 1688's search shows 诚信通 sellers, so isVerifiedMember is true on effectively every row and tells you little on its own. A company absent from the results is not necessarily absent from 1688.
  • No review text. You get the scores, not what any buyer wrote.
  • No contact details. No email, no phone, no WeChat. Those are behind a 1688 login.
  • Store URLs cannot be looked up. Paste the company name instead. The BAD_INPUT row explains it on the spot.
  • A vague company name can return several companies. When nothing matches exactly, a partial match is used, and each company it matches is its own charged row. Paste the full name as 1688 prints it.
  • The numbers in matchedProduct belong to that listing. Units sold and enquiries describe the one offer your keyword hit, not the seller's whole shop.
  • manufacturersOnly also drops the unclassified. Across 341 suppliers measured, 73.9% were manufacturers, 9.7% wholesalers, and 16.1% published no business type at all. That last group goes too.
  • About 2,000 listings per keyword. Use more keywords rather than pushing one deeper.
  • A keyword that stops part way loses what it had gathered. If a run ends early on one keyword, re-run that keyword on its own.

❓ Questions people ask

Do I need a 1688 account? No. Nothing to register and nothing to paste.

Should I search in Chinese or English? Chinese, every time. English keywords match a small fraction of the catalogue.

What is the difference between 1688 and Alibaba.com? 1688 is the Chinese domestic market, priced in yuan with low minimums. Alibaba.com is the export side. Different sellers, different prices.

Which sub-score matters most? Depends on what you are buying, but responsiveness is the one that most often sits well below the headline, and it is what you feel during a negotiation.

Can I look a supplier up by their store link? No, and the row will tell you so. Use the exact company name.

Is scraping 1688 legal? These are public seller listings. Apify's write-up on scraping and the law is a good place to start, and we are not lawyers.

🆘 If something breaks

Open the Issues tab on the actor page. Send the keyword or company name and the run ID. The errorCode on the diagnostic row usually names the problem on its own.
