App Store Review Intelligence - Sentiment & Competitor Gaps

Turn App Store reviews into decisions. Give one or more iOS App Store app IDs (yours and your competitors') and get aspect-based sentiment, top complaints & praise, emerging issues, and a side-by-side competitor feature-gap comparison - across countries and languages. Not a raw review dump: the analysis layer that product managers, ASO and growth teams actually pay for.

Most tools only analyze your app and cost $49-$599/month (Appbot, AppFollow, Appfigures, Sensor Tower). This is a self-serve, pay-per-use alternative that also analyzes competitors.

Real example: Spotify (4.0 stars) vs YouTube Music (2.1 stars) - per aspect: price/billing 3.71 vs 1.53, ads 3.98 vs 2.02, UI/UX 4.29 vs 1.96. Instantly see exactly where each app wins or loses.

What makes it different

  • Aspect-based sentiment - not a vague score, but per-topic: stability/crashes, performance, UI/UX, price/billing, login, ads, features, support, updates, content.
  • Competitor comparison - analyze multiple apps at once and see exactly where each is weak or strong, aspect by aspect (the validated market gap most tools miss).
  • Emerging issues - flags aspects whose sentiment is dropping in recent reviews (e.g. "crashes -1.5 stars recent") so you catch problems early.
  • Multi-country / multi-language - pull reviews from multiple App Store countries. Sentiment is derived from star ratings, so it works in any language, no translation needed.
  • Real review quotes - every top complaint comes with a representative customer quote, so you see exactly what users say, plus the direct App Store link.

Who it's for

App developers, product managers, ASO/growth teams, and competitive-intelligence analysts who want fast, affordable review insight - including on apps they don't own.

Input

FieldTypeDescription
appIdsarrayNumeric iOS App Store IDs (e.g. 324684580 = Spotify). Add competitors for comparison.
countriesarrayApp Store country codes (e.g. us, gb, nl, de). Multi-country = multi-language.
pagesPerCountryintegerReview pages per country (50/page).
minMentionsintegerMinimum mentions for an aspect to be reported.

Output

  • One app_analysis item per app: avg_rating, per-aspect avg stars / mentions / %negative, top_complaints, top_praise, emerging_issues.
  • One comparison item (when ≥2 apps): per-aspect average rating for each app side by side.

How sentiment works (transparent, language-agnostic)

Sentiment per aspect = the average star rating of reviews mentioning that aspect. Star ratings are universal, so this works across languages without a translation model. Text is used only to detect which aspects a review talks about.

Pricing

Pay-per-event: per app analyzed. A 3-app competitor comparison = 3 charges. You pay only for the apps you analyze.
