Walk Score rates how walkable, transit-friendly, and bikeable a US location is on a 0-100 scale. This actor looks up those three scores for any US city or street address directly from walkscore.com, with no API key, login, or account needed.

What this actor does

  • Looks up scores by city/state slug (e.g. Seattle-WA) or by a full street address (e.g. 123 Main St, Seattle, WA).
  • Returns the Walk Score, Transit Score, and Bike Score, each on a 0-100 scale with its human-readable rating label.
  • Pulls nearby amenity categories when the page shows them, giving context for why a location scored the way it did.
  • Accepts a list of multiple cities or addresses and processes them in one run.
  • Any score or amenity list the page doesn't have for a given location is left out of that record.

Use cases

  • Relocation research — compare walkability and transit access across cities you're considering moving to.
  • Real estate listings — attach walkability context to a property address alongside other listing data.
  • Site selection — screen candidate addresses for a retail or office location by how walkable and bike-friendly the area is.
  • Urban planning research — compare walk/transit/bike scores across neighborhoods or cities at scale.
  • Content and comparison sites — build city-ranking content using live Walk Score data.

FAQ

Do I need an API key or account? No — this reads walkscore.com's public pages directly.

What format should a city go in? Use the CityName-ST slug format walkscore.com itself uses, e.g. Los-Angeles-CA or Austin-TX.

Does this work outside the US? It's built around walkscore.com's US city and address pages; coverage outside the US isn't supported.

Why is nearbyAmenities sometimes missing? It's only included when walkscore.com's page actually lists nearby amenity categories for that location; not every page shows one.

Can I look up a mix of addresses and cities in one run? Set mode to whichever type you mostly need and run it twice if you need both a city list and an address list, since mode controls which input field (cities or addresses) the actor reads.

How accurate are the scores? The scores come directly from walkscore.com's own methodology, which draws on sources like OpenStreetMap; this actor doesn't recalculate or adjust them.

Is this affiliated with Walk Score? No. This actor reads walkscore.com's public pages and is not affiliated with Walk Score or Redfin.
