Golf Leaderboard Scraper reads PGA Tour and LPGA Tour leaderboards from ESPN and returns one row per player: the finishing position, the score to par, the strokes of each round and the player's country, with the tournament name, its start date and a link to the leaderboard. Enter a date inside a tournament week and click Start; the Biltmore Championship Asheville in September 2026 came back with all 132 players. Hole-by-hole scores, tee times and prize money are not included. It costs $1.00 per 1,000 results on the Free plan ($0.50 on Business), and the $5 of monthly credit in Apify's Free plan covers about 5,000 results.

What does a leaderboard row contain?

FieldDescription
league, nameTour (pga or lpga) and tournament, e.g. Biltmore Championship Asheville.
gameIdESPN's tournament ID, the same on every row of one leaderboard.
competitorName, competitorIdThe player and ESPN's player ID.
standingPositionPlace on the final leaderboard. Tied players get consecutive numbers, and players who missed the cut are listed after everyone who made it.
standingScoreScore to par as a number: -26 is 26 under par, 0 is even par. Empty before the tournament starts, when ESPN lists every player at even par.
periodScoresStrokes per round, e.g. [66, 67, 64, 61]. PGA Tour events have four rounds and the LPGA's 54-hole events three. Players who missed the cut have two, and a 0 marks a round the player did not play.
participants[0].locationThe player's country as ESPN lists it, e.g. USA or Japan.
status, statusDetailpost and Final once the tournament is over; during play in and the round, e.g. Round 3 - In Progress. Between rounds ESPN already reports post, with completed true and a text such as Round 2 - Play Complete.
startsAtFirst day of the tournament. The time part is always midnight US Eastern and says nothing about tee times.
broadcastsUS channels ESPN lists, e.g. Golf Chnl.
urlThe leaderboard on espn.com.

Golf news rows carry ESPN's golf stories with title, summary, publishedAt and url. Team events look different: the 2026 Presidents Cup came back as a single row with the two teams in home and away and their points, 17 for USA and 13 for INTL, without player rows.

How to scrape PGA Tour and LPGA leaderboards

  1. In Leagues, keep pga and lpga or remove one of them.
  2. Leave What to return on Leaderboards, or pick Golf news for ESPN's golf stories. ESPN has no tables, teams or rosters for golf.
  3. Put any day of the tournament into From date and To date. A longer range returns every tournament in it, with each player once.
  4. Set Game status to Finished for final results only: it keeps tournaments whose statusDetail is Final and leaves out leaderboards in play or between two rounds.
  5. Click Start. The Output tab lists the players in leaderboard order, and the table exports to CSV, Excel or JSON or can be read through the API:

Leaderboards during play

While a round is being played, ESPN's scoreboard lists only about 20 players, in its own order. standingPosition then follows that list and does not match the place on the leaderboard, and the last number in periodScores holds the strokes taken so far in the current round. During the final round of the LPGA's Walmart NW Arkansas Championship on 27 September 2026 a run returned 21 players; once the tournament was over, the same leaderboard had all 144.

The mode that returns only changes compares each player's position, score to par and round scores, and the tournament's status text such as Round 2 - In Progress. During a round, a scheduled run returns the players whose numbers moved since the run before. A daily schedule over a moving range such as -1 to today, with Finished and Return only what changed since the last run turned on, returns the leaderboard once, when it turns Final.

How much does it cost to scrape golf leaderboards?

Free planStarterScaleBusiness
1,000 results$1.00$0.80$0.65$0.50

You pay only for the events in the table. There is no start fee, and compute time and proxies are included.

The 132-player Biltmore leaderboard costs $0.132 on the Free plan and $0.066 on Business.

Limits

  • Only the PGA Tour and the LPGA Tour are read. Stories about other tours can still turn up among the news rows.
  • There are no hole-by-hole scores, tee times, prize money or ranking points, and venue is null, so the course is not named.
  • winner stays null on leaderboard rows; the winner is the player with standingPosition 1.
  • ESPN puts no betting lines on golf leaderboards, so odds is always null.
  • One leaderboard can hold 144 players, so the 200 rows prefilled in Maximum rows cut off the second of two full leaderboards. A run without that field stops at 2,000 rows, and a run covers at most 120 days.

FAQ

Tournament leaderboards are public results that ESPN shows to every visitor, and the actor reads them from ESPN's public JSON feeds without logging in. Rows name the professional players because the scores are theirs; no other personal information is collected. You are responsible for how you use and share the data.

How do I show ties such as T2?

Players with the same standingScore in one gameId share a place. At the Walmart NW Arkansas Championship three players finished at -16 and hold positions 2, 3 and 4, which a printed leaderboard shows as T2.
