SEEK Jobs Scraper

SEEK runs the job boards seek.com.au and seek.co.nz. This actor returns one row per job ad: title, advertiser, location, classification and subclassification, work type, work arrangement, the salary as written and as numbers, the teaser, the advertiser's bullet points and the full ad text. Type a keyword such as nurse and a location the way SEEK writes it, Melbourne VIC, then click Start. SEEK shows at most 500 results per search, so larger searches are split by classification and work type. It costs $0.50 per 1,000 jobs on the Free plan ($0.25 on Business), and the $5 of monthly credit in Apify's Free plan covers about 10,000 jobs.

What each row contains

workArrangement	Hybrid, Remote or On-site when the ad states it, which most ads do not.
salaryText	Salary exactly as the ad shows it, e.g. $250,000 - $270,000 + superannuation, $160k+super or Up to $1000/day.
salaryMin, salaryMax, salaryPeriod, salaryCurrency	The same salary as numbers, per yearly, hourly, daily, weekly or monthly, in AUD or NZD.
teaser, bulletPoints	The short summary and up to three selling points the advertiser wrote for search results.
featured	true for a featured (paid) ad.
postedAt, expiresAt	When the ad was listed and when it expires, in UTC.
description, descriptionHtml	Full ad text as plain text and as HTML, for the first 450 ads of a run.
url, applyUrl	The ad on SEEK and its apply page.

How to scrape SEEK jobs

1. Enter Keywords as on SEEK, e.g. accountant, nurse or software engineer, and a Location in SEEK's form: Sydney NSW, Melbourne VIC, Brisbane QLD, Perth WA or Auckland. Without a location the whole country is searched.
2. Pick the Country: Australia (seek.com.au), New Zealand (seek.co.nz) or both, which runs the search once in each.
3. Narrow it with Classifications (SEEK's 30 job categories), Work types, Remote options, Listed in the last (24 hours to 31 days) and Minimum yearly salary, which is SEEK's own salary filter in AUD or NZD. Sort by Newest first puts the latest ads on top.
4. Or paste SEEK search addresses into Search links from SEEK, e.g. https://www.seek.com.au/data-engineer-jobs/in-All-Melbourne-VIC?worktype=242. The keywords, place and filters in the link are used together with the filters set in the form.
5. Leave Include full job details on for the full ad text and the expiry date, then click Start. Rows collect in the Output tab, from where they download as CSV, Excel or JSON; the API returns the same dataset.

How much does it cost to scrape SEEK?

You pay only for the events in the table. There is no start fee, and compute time and proxies are included.

Collecting 5,000 ads costs $2.50 on the Free plan and $1.25 on Business. Ads removed by Exclude keywords, ads that two parts of a split search both return and ads already delivered in the new-only mode are not billed.

Limits

• A split search reads SEEK's 30 classifications one by one, and a classification above 500 ads by its 4 work types. It happens only when Maximum jobs asks for more than 500. Ads still beyond 500 in one part are skipped, and the run log estimates how many.
• SEEK matches keywords broadly. A September 2026 run for nurse across Australia also returned ward clerks and medical receptionists; Exclude keywords and Classifications trim such rows.
• About half of the ads carry salary figures: 1,503 of 3,000 in that run. The rest show text such as Compensation negotiable based on experience, or no salary at all.
• workArrangement stays empty unless the advertiser sets it, as on 236 of those 3,000 ads.
• Descriptions come from SEEK's job detail service, which serves about 500 of them per session. Each run keeps one session and reads descriptions for its first 450 ads; further ads come without description, descriptionHtml and expiresAt, and detailsSkipped in the SUMMARY record counts them. Split a bigger search into several runs, for example one per city, when you need every description. If the service replies "Too many requests", the actor pauses the descriptions, 15 seconds at first and up to 2 minutes.

Watching a SEEK search

Turn on Return only jobs new since the last run, name the search in Watch name (e.g. sydney-data) or save it as a task, and schedule it. Every run then delivers only ads that the earlier runs under that name did not, and an ad counts as delivered for 90 days after it was first seen.

FAQ

Is it legal to scrape SEEK?

SEEK shows these ads to every visitor, and the actor reads them through the same search and job detail services as the website, at the pace SEEK accepts. It collects job ads and nothing about candidates. Ad texts are published as advertisers wrote them and often end with a recruiter's contact details: 642 of 1,500 descriptions in one September 2026 run contained an email address. You are responsible for how you store and use them.

How are salaries such as $160k+super read?

The actor takes the figures and the period from the ad's salary text: $160k+super becomes 160000 a year and Up to $1000/day becomes 1000 a day, both in AUD. On the Australian and New Zealand sites, figures of 20,000 or more without a period count as yearly. Superannuation is not added; the numbers are the ones the ad shows.
