Meetup Group Details Scraper turns a list of Meetup group URLs into a spreadsheet with one row per group. It is built for sponsorship and partnership teams, recruiters, event-tech sales teams, community managers and researchers. Each row has the member count, event rating, organizer, topics, exact location, founding date, social profiles, and any emails, phone numbers and external links the organizer put in the group description.

  • Contacts pulled from the description. emailAddresses, phoneNumbers and otherUrls (Discord, WhatsApp, personal sites) are extracted from the group's own description text. They are null when the description has none.
  • Social profiles in one object. socialMedia is keyed by platform (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn, YouTube, TikTok, Flickr, Tumblr, other) and only contains platforms the group has filled in.
  • Audience and health signals. membersCount, rating (average event rating), ratingTotal, foundedDate, joinMode and status show whether a group is large, rated and active.
  • Coordinates and descriptions ready for analysis. lat, lon, timezone and zip for mapping, plus the description as raw description and as markdownDescription.
  • Pay per group, no login. No Meetup account, API key, browser or proxy setup. Export to JSON, CSV, Excel or Google Sheets.

Scope: This actor reads one group page per URL. To find groups by keyword and location, use Meetup Groups Finder. For a group's events and RSVPs, use Meetup Events Scraper.

Track Meetup groups over time with scheduled runs

Most of the value comes from running the same input again and comparing. Apify can run the actor for you on a schedule and send the results wherever you need them.

1. Save your input as a task

Open the actor, set your group URLs, then click Save as a new task. A task is a saved input you can run again with one click or on a schedule.

2. Schedule the task

In Apify Console, go to Schedules, click Create new, choose how often to run (for example daily at 06:00 in your time zone), and add your task. See Schedules and How to create a schedule.

3. Send the results to a spreadsheet

Connect Google in the task's Integrations tab to save every run to Google Sheets or Google Drive automatically:

4. Compare runs

  • Growth: membersCount per id over time.
  • Engagement: rating and ratingTotal per id.
  • New contacts: emailAddresses, socialMedia and otherUrls that appear or change.
  • Status changes: status, joinMode and isPrivate.

Every row has id and urlname, so runs are easy to join.

Input reference

FieldTypeDefaultEffect
groupUrlsArray of stringsRequiredMeetup group page URLs. The group name is taken from the first path segment, so https://www.meetup.com/ny-tech/events/ works too.

Invalid URLs and groups that don't exist are skipped and listed in the OUTPUT record of the run's key-value store. They don't stop the rest of the run and they don't produce dataset rows.

FAQ

How many groups can I scrape in one run?

There is no set limit. All URLs are fetched together and each valid group becomes one row.

Do I need a Meetup account or API key?

No. The actor reads public group data.

Why is a group missing from the results?

The URL may be invalid or the group may not exist or not be public. Check the run's OUTPUT record in the key-value store, which lists each failed URL and the reason.

How do I find group URLs?

Use Meetup Groups Finder to search by keyword and location, then paste the URLs here.

Is the data live?

Yes. Every run queries Meetup at that moment, so counts and ratings are current.

The actor collects public information. Organizer names and contact details can be personal data, so check GDPR and similar rules for how you use them, and Meetup's Terms of Service.

Cost

Pay per event: a small start fee per run plus a price per group. Per group it is $0.005 on the Free plan and falls to $0.003 (Bronze), $0.0025 (Silver) and $0.002 (Gold and above). The start fee is $0.01. For example, 1,000 groups on the Free plan cost about $5.01. See the Pricing tab for current prices.
