Himalayas Jobs Scraper extracts remote job listings from himalayas.app — title, company, countries where candidates may live, seniority, employment type, salary range, categories, posting and expiry dates and the full description — as clean JSON, CSV or Excel. Search by keyword, country, seniority level, employment type, company or timezone, then narrow the result with exact keywords, categories, a minimum salary or a date window. It reads Himalayas' public Remote Jobs API: no login, no browser, and no API key unless you want one for a bigger request allowance.

Pay per result, platform usage included.

Need several boards at once? Our Remote Jobs Aggregator merges Himalayas with Remote OK, We Work Remotely, Jobicy, Remotive and Arbeitnow into one de-duplicated schema. This Actor is the Himalayas-only option: it exposes everything the Himalayas API offers (server-side search, country and seniority filters, salary sorting, the whole feed with cursor paging) that a multi-board tool has to leave out. Its single-board siblings are the RemoteOK Jobs Scraper and the We Work Remotely Scraper.

What you get

One record per unique job:

  • title, company, companySlug, companyUrl, companyLogo
  • countries — where candidates must be located (names as published); worldwide: true when there is no restriction
  • timezones — UTC offsets the candidate must overlap with (a job without a timezone requirement lists every offset)
  • seniority (a job can accept several levels: Entry-level, Mid-level, Senior, Manager, Director, Executive), employmentType (Full Time, Part Time, Contractor, Temporary, Intern, Volunteer, Other)
  • parentCategories (Developer, Design, Marketing, Sales, Customer Service, Data Science, Product, Finance…) and the specific categories (Full Stack Engineer, SEO Specialist, Account Executive…)
  • salaryMin, salaryMax, salaryCurrency, salaryPeriod — the published range in its own currency and pay period (annual, monthly, weekly, fortnightly or hourly); null when the employer published nothing (about three in four listings)
  • excerpt, description as plain text (HTML removed; personal e-mails, phone numbers and profile links stripped), optional descriptionHtml
  • postedAt, expiresAt (ISO 8601), url (the job on Himalayas), applyUrl, id, source: "himalayas", scrapedAt

Use cases

  • Feed a remote-jobs board, newsletter, Slack or Discord channel with new Himalayas listings for one country or one skill
  • Track salary bands for remote roles by seniority, country or category over time
  • Build lists of companies hiring remotely in a niche (query: "fintech", seniority: ["Manager"]) for sales outreach
  • Follow specific employers with companies and get alerted when they post
  • Give an AI agent or a Make/n8n workflow a structured source of remote jobs

{ "maxItems": 50 }

"maxItems": 200
}

{
"countries": ["Germany"],
"includeWorldwide": false,
"minSalary": 60000,
"sortBy": "salaryDesc",
"includeDescription": false,
"maxItems": 100
}

Input fields

FieldWhat it does
queryFree-text search run by Himalayas (react engineer, customer success). Switches the Actor to the search endpoint
countriesISO codes, names or slugs. One search per country, merged and de-duplicated. includeWorldwide (default on) keeps jobs with no country restriction; worldwideOnly returns only those
seniority, employmentTypesHimalayas' own labels, filtered server-side
companiesCompany slugs from himalayas.app/companies/<slug> (URLs accepted)
timezoneUTC offset the job's timezone window must include: -5, UTC-5, UTC+05:30
sortBySearch order: relevant (default), recent, salaryDesc, salaryAsc, nameAToZ, nameZToA, jobs. Without any server-side filter the board is always read newest first
keywords, excludeKeywordsExact, accent-insensitive match on title, company, categories and excerpt; searchDescription: true adds the full description
categoriesKeep jobs whose parent or specific categories contain the text (Developer, SEO Specialist)
minSalary, onlyWithSalaryYearly amount in the job's own currency (hourly, weekly, fortnightly and monthly figures are annualised: ×2080, ×52, ×26, ×12); listings without a published salary are skipped
postedWithinDaysOnly jobs published in the last N days
includeDescription, includeDescriptionHtmlPlain-text description (default on) and the original HTML (default off); neither costs extra requests
maxItemsExact number of unique jobs (default 50). Himalayas returns 20 jobs per request
maxRequestsSafety cap on requests per run (0 = the built-in limit of 2,500)
apiKeyOptional free Himalayas API key for a larger allowance (60 requests/min, 10,000/day). Stored encrypted, never logged
proxyConfigurationRequests go out directly first; the Actor climbs to Apify datacenter and residential proxies only if Himalayas blocks

Whenever a server-side filter is set (query, countries, worldwideOnly, seniority, employmentTypes, companies, timezone or a non-default sortBy) the Actor walks Himalayas' search pages; otherwise it walks the full feed newest first with cursor paging, which can go back through the whole board (more than 100,000 listings in October 2026). Client-side filters apply in both modes; with strict client-side filters and no server-side ones, the Actor may read many 20-job pages to find matches — maxRequests keeps that in check.

The run also stores a SUMMARY record in the key-value store: mode (search or browse), pages read, jobs seen, jobs filtered out, duplicates skipped, searches that returned nothing, Himalayas' estimated total for your filters, the feed's update time, the proxy rung used and any rate-limit hits.

How it compares

  • Remote Jobs Aggregator (fabrikit) — six boards in one normalised schema, de-duplicated across boards. Choose it for coverage; choose this Actor when you want Himalayas' native filters (country, seniority, employment type, company, timezone, salary sort) and its specific categories.
  • Other Himalayas scrapers on the Store — this one adds server-side search, exact maxItems, real nulls instead of empty strings, ISO dates, plain-text descriptions and a stable id, and it keeps the API's applyUrl and job URL so you can meet Himalayas' attribution terms.
  • Calling the API yourself is free but leaves you with HTML descriptions, epoch timestamps, 20-job pages, cursor bookkeeping, a shared anonymous rate limit and no scheduling or integrations.

Integrations

Run it from the Apify API or the JavaScript/Python clients, schedule it hourly or daily, and push results to Google Sheets, Airtable, Slack, webhooks, n8n, Make or Zapier through Apify integrations. The Actor works as a tool in the Apify MCP server, so AI agents can call it ("list senior remote data jobs in Canada with a published salary above 120k").

Himalayas publishes this data through a free public API under its API terms: show a visible link to the job on Himalayas (url) or to himalayas.app, name Himalayas as the source, send applicants through the applyUrl the API supplies, remove jobs after expiresAt, and do not redistribute the listings to other job boards, aggregators or job search engines. Keep that in mind if you republish. This Actor is not affiliated with Himalayas and does not use its logo. Listings are public job ads from companies; e-mail addresses, phone numbers and personal profile links of individual people found in descriptions are removed, company role mailboxes (jobs@, careers@) are kept. Use the data in line with Himalayas' terms and the laws that apply to you.

FAQ

Do I need a Himalayas API key? No. Without one the Actor uses Himalayas' shared public allowance and waits when the API answers 429. A free key from himalayas.app raises the allowance to 60 requests per minute and 10,000 per day; paste it in apiKey and it is sent as a bearer token and never written to logs.

How far back can I go? The browse feed walks the whole board newest first; Himalayas listed more than 100,000 jobs in October 2026. Search results are paged until Himalayas returns an empty page; its totalCount for a search is an estimate, so the final count can differ.

Why does a country search return jobs from many other countries? Himalayas counts a job as open to a country when its restriction list includes that country or is empty. Some employers list dozens of eligible countries. Turn includeWorldwide off to drop listings with no restriction at all.

Are salaries comparable? They are published in the employer's currency and pay period (salaryCurrency, salaryPeriod) and passed through unchanged. minSalary only annualises the period; it does not convert currencies.

Do I need a proxy? Normally not. The API answered direct requests throughout our tests; the built-in ladder only switches to Apify proxies if a block is seen.

What does an empty result mean? Either no job matched your filters (the status message and SUMMARY say how many were read and rejected, and which country searches came back empty) or Himalayas was unreachable, in which case the run fails with a clear message.
