Research Shopify apps without copying each listing by hand. Shopify App Store Scraper collects public descriptions, pricing summaries, ratings, review counts and developer details in one dataset.

Start with known apps or explore a category. Export the results to a spreadsheet, use the API or explore them with an AI assistant. This Actor returns listing information, not individual review text.

Quick start

Start with one public Klaviyo listing:

{
"handles": ["klaviyo-email-marketing"],
"maxItems": 1,
"includeRelatedApps": false
}
  1. Open the Actor in Apify Console and enter this input.
  2. Start the run and wait for it to finish.
  3. Open the dataset and export the listing as CSV, JSON or Excel.

Prefer a video guide? This short Apify walkthrough shows you how to set up and run an Actor. It uses a different Actor, but the setup steps are the same.

Ready-to-run examples

Choose an example to start with a small, preconfigured input.

What you get

  • Listing snapshots: names, descriptions, public URLs and app pricing summaries.
  • Rating signals: available listing ratings and review counts, rather than individual reviews.
  • Developer context: public developer names and website links when available.
  • App discovery: category-page discovery and optional related-app exploration.
  • Structured exports: listing attributes and collection timestamps for your own comparisons.

Who is it for?

  • App researchers: shortlist apps using pricing summaries and rating signals.
  • App developers: compare competing listings and their public positioning.
  • Ecommerce analysts: collect repeatable snapshots for spreadsheets and reporting.

Input settings

Choose at least one source. Sources can be combined, and repeated handles are processed once per run. Console prefills are examples, not inputs automatically supplied to API calls.

SettingAPI keyMeaning
App URLsstartUrlsPublic Shopify App Store listing URLs.
App handleshandlesApp identifiers such as klaviyo-email-marketing.
Category URLscategoryUrlsPublic Shopify App Store category pages for discovery.
Maximum listingsmaxItemsDefault 20, range 1–10000. Caps saved listings across all sources and related apps.
Include related appsincludeRelatedAppsDefault true. Follow related listing references until the item limit is reached.

Compare a known set of apps

{
"handles": ["pagefly", "gempages"],
"maxItems": 2,
"includeRelatedApps": false
}

For a fixed list, disable related-app exploration and allow enough items for your chosen apps. The relatedApps output may still contain references when following them is disabled.

{
"handles": ["judgeme"],
"maxItems": 5,
"includeRelatedApps": true
}

Related results depend on references available on public listings.

Discover apps from a category

Paste a current category URL into categoryUrls. Older category URLs may redirect to broader categories. Set includeRelatedApps to false to avoid expanding beyond discovered category listings. Fewer apps than requested may be available.

Output data

Each row describes one public app listing. Optional fields can be missing or empty. A missing value does not mean zero or free.

FieldsMeaning
name, handle, urlApp identity and public listing URL.
description, pricingSummaryListing text and app pricing summary.
developerName, developerWebsite, iconUrlPublic developer and app image information when available.
ratingValue, ratingCountListing rating and rating/review count.
categories, features, languages, worksWithPublic listing attributes.
relatedApps, scrapedAtRelated app references and collection timestamp.

Selected fields from a saved Klaviyo listing collected on 9 October 2026. Ratings, review counts and app pricing can change:

{
"name": "Klaviyo: Email Marketing & SMS",
"handle": "klaviyo-email-marketing",
"url": "https://apps.shopify.com/klaviyo-email-marketing",
"pricingSummary": "Free to install",
"ratingValue": 4.7,
"ratingCount": 3341,
"developerName": "Klaviyo",
"scrapedAt": "2026-10-09T00:24:07.145Z"
}

Check partial results

Successful listings remain available if another app cannot be collected. In the run's default key-value store, open RUN_SUMMARY when present. saved counts saved listings, outcomes lists recorded app errors, and partial indicates whether those errors occurred. finishedAt gives the summary timestamp.

A summary without recorded errors does not prove complete category coverage. Discovery can stop at the item or time limit. If the summary is missing, check the run log. If no listings can be extracted, the current implementation fails the run.

Download your results

Open your run's dataset, choose Export and select JSON, CSV or Excel. JSON keeps nested fields together. CSV and Excel are useful when you want to review the records in a spreadsheet.

See Apify's download and export guide for the available formats and field options.

Pricing

This Actor uses pay-per-event pricing. The start event is a one-time run charge after initial input and category discovery produce an app queue. Repeat lookups incur their own start charge.

The result event is charged for each extracted app listing. Failed app lookups do not produce paid error rows. A result charge can precede a failed dataset write, so inspect the run if storage fails.

See the live Pricing tab for current rates and discounts.

The app prices returned in pricingSummary describe the Shopify app itself. They are separate from the cost of using this scraper.

Tips for best results

  • Start with one app. Use a small maxItems while checking the fields you need.
  • Keep comparisons consistent. Disable related-app exploration for a fixed set of listings.
  • Check the listing details. A pricing summary is not a complete comparison of plans or features.
  • Use current category links. Redirects can broaden discovery beyond the original category.
  • Review partial results. Check the summary and run log before treating an absent app as removed.

Limits and caveats

  • Only public listing information is collected. Login-only and private app data are not supported.
  • Individual review text is not included. Use the separate Shopify App Reviews Scraper for that job.
  • maxItems is a ceiling, not a guaranteed result count. Public page changes, access challenges and the run's time limit can reduce coverage.
  • Snapshot comparison and alerts belong in your own workflow. They are not built into this Actor.
  • This scraper is not Shopify's official API and is not affiliated with Shopify.

Automation and integrations

Save your settings for next time

Once you have an input that works for you, save it as an Apify task. This keeps your settings together so you can use them again without filling in the form from scratch.

Run on a schedule

Need fresh results regularly? You can schedule the Actor or a saved task to run at a time that suits you.

Each scheduled run collects the data again. If you want to compare results or highlight changes, add that step in your own workflow.

Send results to your other tools

Use n8n, Make or Zapier to connect this scraper to the rest of your workflow. For example, you could pass its results to an AI assistant or add records to a spreadsheet. Follow the Apify integration guides for your chosen tool.

For a custom connection, an Apify webhook can notify your app when a run finishes or fails. Your app can then fetch the results or handle the failure.

Build a comparison spreadsheet

Export the dataset and keep handle, name, url, pricingSummary, ratingValue and ratingCount together. Save each snapshot with its collection date and match records by handle. Your spreadsheet or application can compare snapshots and send alerts. Check the summary before treating a missing listing as a removal.

API usage

Want to collect this data from your own app or automation? The examples below send input to the scraper and show how to collect its results.

The Node.js and Python examples wait for the run to finish before reading its results. The cURL example starts the run and returns its details. Wait for that run to finish, then use its defaultDatasetId to fetch the results.

For setup instructions, see Apify's JavaScript client guide, Python client guide and Actor runs API reference.

cURL

curl -X POST "https://api.apify.com/v2/acts/fetch_cat~shopify-app-store-scraper/runs" \
-H "Authorization: Bearer $APIFY_TOKEN" \
-H "Content-Type: application/json" \
-d '{"handles":["klaviyo-email-marketing"],"maxItems":1,"includeRelatedApps":false}'

After the returned run succeeds, retrieve its dataset:

curl "https://api.apify.com/v2/datasets/$DATASET_ID/items?format=json" \
-H "Authorization: Bearer $APIFY_TOKEN"

Node.js

Install apify-client and set APIFY_TOKEN in your environment.

import { ApifyClient } from 'apify-client';
const client = new ApifyClient({ token: process.env.APIFY_TOKEN });
const run = await client.actor('fetch_cat/shopify-app-store-scraper').call({
handles: ['klaviyo-email-marketing'],
maxItems: 1,
includeRelatedApps: false,
});
const { items } = await client.dataset(run.defaultDatasetId).listItems();
console.log(items);

For larger datasets, follow the client's pagination instructions.

Python

Install apify-client and set APIFY_TOKEN in your environment.

import os
from apify_client import ApifyClient
client = ApifyClient(os.environ["APIFY_TOKEN"])
run = client.actor("fetch_cat/shopify-app-store-scraper").call(run_input={
"handles": ["klaviyo-email-marketing"],
"maxItems": 1,
"includeRelatedApps": False,
})
for item in client.dataset(run["defaultDatasetId"]).iterate_items():
print(item)

MCP and AI agents

You can ask your AI assistant to collect data with Shopify App Store Scraper and help you work with the results. The scraper returns the data, and your assistant can then summarize it, compare records or prepare notes.

Connect your assistant through the Apify MCP server. MCP gives your assistant a way to find this scraper, run it and read the results. Follow the official setup and sign-in guide for your app.

Easier setup with an Apify plugin

If you use a supported coding assistant, the official Apify plugin can set up the connection for you. It connects your assistant to Apify and includes instructions for common tasks. Follow the guide for your particular app.

Use Apify AI in Console

Prefer to keep everything in Apify? Open Apify AI in Console and ask it to find Fetch Cat's Shopify App Store Scraper. You can describe the data you want and ask questions about the results.

Apify AI is currently in beta. It asks for confirmation before starting an Actor, and normal run charges apply.

Choose your assistant

Connect just this scraper

To keep your setup focused on this scraper, add this server configuration to a compatible MCP client:

{
"mcpServers": {
"apify": {
"url": "https://mcp.apify.com?tools=fetch_cat/shopify-app-store-scraper"
}
}
}

Sign in to Apify when your client asks. If your client uses a Bearer token instead, follow its setup guide and keep the token in its secure configuration. Configuration formats vary by app, so use the linked guide if your client needs a different format.

Use Apify's general server

Already connected to the general Apify MCP server at https://mcp.apify.com? You can use it to find this scraper without adding another server. Ask your assistant to use Shopify App Store Scraper by Fetch Cat, or give it the identifier fetch_cat/shopify-app-store-scraper.

Your assistant can check the available settings and retrieve the results from the returned run. If the run is still working, it should follow that run rather than start it again. Both connection options use Apify's hosted service.

Example requests

  • Look up the Klaviyo app listing and show me its pricing summary, rating and review count.
  • Collect the PageFly and GemPages listings without exploring related apps, then compare their public descriptions and ratings.
  • Starting with Judge.me, collect up to five app listings including related apps and prepare a table of their names, developers and listing links.

Normal Apify charges apply. Check the live Pricing tab before asking your assistant to run a larger batch.

Pay with x402

If your AI agent has a funded wallet, it can pay for Apify usage through x402. This experimental option lets an agent use Apify without a conventional account.

Apify AGI provides a prepaid API token with a spending cap after payment. Your agent can use that token to run this scraper through the Apify API or an authenticated MCP connection.

Some MCP setups also support paying for each request directly. That is a different payment option, so check the official guide for its availability.

Follow the official guide for wallet setup, supported payment options and current terms. Apify handles the payments. Keep wallet keys and payment tokens in your agent's secure configuration.

Other ways for agents to pay

Apify also supports MPP for prepaid access through AGI and Skyfire for eligible Actors. If your agent already uses one of these, see the agentic payment guide to choose the right setup.

FAQ

Does this collect individual Shopify app reviews?

No. It returns listing ratings and review counts. Use the Shopify App Reviews Scraper for individual review text.

Can I use this as a Shopify App Store API alternative?

You can retrieve public listing snapshots through the Apify API. It is not an official Shopify API, and source changes can affect availability.

Set includeRelatedApps to false. Supply exact handles or listing URLs and allow enough maxItems for your list.

Why did I get fewer listings than requested?

Your input may expose fewer apps, pages may be unavailable or discovery may stop at its limits. Check RUN_SUMMARY and the run log. If none can be extracted, the current run fails.

How do I export Shopify App Store data?

Open the dataset and export CSV, JSON or Excel, or retrieve the records through the API. No Shopify login or cookies are needed for public listings.

Support and feedback

For custom additions or integrations, email hello@fetchcat.dev.

Found an error or have a feature request? Open an issue with the run URL, a non-sensitive input example and what you expected.

Need help sharing it? See Apify’s guide to sharing a run when reporting an issue. Sharing a run can give the developer access to its input, logs and results, so use a run that contains no sensitive data. Please leave out API tokens, passwords, cookies, private documents and personal data. Use a public sample URL or a redacted example instead.

Tried this scraper? We'd love to hear how it worked for you. Leave a review to help others choose the right tool and help us improve it. If the review form is unavailable, open the Actor overview and use its review controls. Your feedback means a lot to us.
