All notable changes to App Store Scraper are recorded here. The newest release is first.
Apify renders this as a Changelog tab on the Store page. Keeping it current is a
visible signal that the Actor is maintained, which feeds the quality score that
drives Store and MCP search ranking. Add an entry with every published build.
- Docs: related Actors listed; input field descriptions clarified for AI agents.
- Fixed: a search no longer stops at 50 apps when you asked for more - "Results per search, developer or chart" now defaults to the store's own maximum (200 for a keyword or developer, 100 for a chart), so "Maximum results" is the only limit you normally meet. You can still set it lower on purpose. When it is still that limit, not Maximum results, cutting a search short, the run's log now says so in plain language.
- Results whose text mentions "captcha" or "access denied" (a server description, a game or shop product name, a headline) are no longer mistaken for an anti-bot block, which could fail a good run.
First public release.
- App Store app data from Apple's public iTunes Search and Lookup API and top-chart feeds, with no login and no API key: lookups by App Store link, app ID or bundle ID (100 per request), keyword search with
searchRank, all apps of a developer (by ID, link or name), and top free, paid and grossing charts with chartPosition, for iPhone, iPad and Mac in 176 countries.
- Every row carries
status, so a missing record (not_found) and a failure (error) are told apart from real data. Only ok rows are charged.
- Records are validated against a schema before they are written, so an upstream change produces loud warnings instead of silently billing for empty rows.
- Callable with no arguments by an AI agent, which the input schema's defaults make safe.
