Fetch official Eurostat EU and Euro Area economic indicators directly from the European Commission's free data API. Covers GDP growth, HICP inflation (headline and core), unemployment, industrial production, retail sales, sentiment indices, government debt and deficit, house prices, and more. No API key required.

• Fetches 17 pre-configured EU/Euro Area economic time series from Eurostat
• Concurrent fetching — all selected indicators retrieved in parallel
• Returns standardized records: indicator, country, date, value, unit
• Configurable time range (default: from 2010)
• Gracefully skips unavailable indicators with a warning (never fails hard)

How current is the data? Eurostat typically publishes with a 1–2 month lag (e.g., May unemployment data published in July). Data reflects the latest available release.

Can I fetch specific countries (Germany, France, etc.)? The built-in indicators cover Euro Area (EA20) and EU aggregates. For country-level data, you can modify the catalog by adding custom entries — see the geo parameter (DE = Germany, FR = France, IT = Italy, ES = Spain, etc.).

What's the difference between GDP QoQ and YoY? gdp_growth_qoq is the sequential quarter-on-quarter change (annualized by ECB, published seasonally adjusted). gdp_growth_yoy compares to the same quarter in the prior year — less volatile, better for trend analysis.

What is HICP core? HICP excluding energy, food, alcohol, and tobacco. The ECB focuses on core inflation for its 2% target assessment.
