Steam Game Reviews Scraper
Reads Steam game reviews with playtime, votes and author history. Steam has two defaults that each narrow what you get, language and purchase type, and its own total shrinks to match. Apex Legends reports 1,044 reviews that way and has 1,066,930. This asks for all of both. No key, no login.

Reads reviews for any Steam game. You get the review text, whether it was positive, the author's playtime in minutes, how many games they own, helpful and funny votes, and whether they bought the game on Steam. As JSON, CSV or Excel.
No API key and no login.
Steam has two defaults, and together they hide most of the reviews
Call Steam's review endpoint yourself and two parameters you never set decide how much you get back. Both of them narrow. The part that makes it hard to catch is that Steam's own review count shrinks to match, so the total it reports and the rows it hands you agree with each other, and both are small.
Leave language off and you get English only.
Leave purchase_type off and you get only the people who bought a copy on Steam. For a
game that has always been free, almost nobody did.
I measured this on 1 September 2026.
Apex Legends with both defaults reports 1,044 reviews. It has 1,066,930. That is one tenth of one percent. Dota 2 reports 6,120 and has 2,769,905. Warframe reports 1,145 and has 675,784. Team Fortress 2 reports 27,450 and has 1,249,208.
Paid games lose less, because their reviewers did buy on Steam. Red Dead Redemption 2 reports 310,939 with both defaults and has 912,868. Counter-Strike 2 reports 1,501,705 and has 9,831,048.
The language default on its own is the smaller of the two. English is 36% of Red Dead 2's reviews, 30% of Dota 2's and 27% of Counter-Strike 2's. Across fourteen games I checked the median was 42%.
This Actor asks for every language and every purchase type by default. Narrow either one on
purpose and every row still says what it cost you. gameCoverage is the share of the game's
reviews your query could reach with both counted together. languageCoverage and
purchaseTypeCoverage split that between the two, each holding the other still, so read
them one at a time and do not multiply them.
It matters more than it sounds. Ask Apex Legends for Russian reviews from Steam buyers and you get 89 reviews, and the walk finishes, and Steam agrees there are 89. The game has 1,066,930.
Ordering
recent walks by date posted and is the only order that pages cleanly. updated walks by
last edit, which is a different order because people edit reviews. all is Steam's
relevance order and can hand you the same review twice across pages, so this Actor drops
repeats and counts them.
Completeness
reviewsComplete is true only when the walk reached the end of what Steam serves. Asking
for 500 reviews and getting 500 is reported as maxReviews, never as complete.
Cost
Pay per event, priced on the Actor page. A run that returns nothing is free, because nothing is charged until rows are written to your dataset.
