eBay Keyword Rank Tracker

Tracks where any brand or listing ranks for a keyword on five eBay Europe storefronts (Germany, United Kingdom, France, Italy and Spain), and which competitors hold the promoted slots above it. Every search result gets its own row with an absolute position, so you can measure share of search and paid-slot share on the same data.

What you get

• Absolute rank per keyword: keyword, page and a continuous position that keeps counting across pages.
• A reliable is_sponsored flag. eBay publishes its own listing ledger on the search page, and the promoted marker is read from there rather than guessed from the card layout.
• ledger_rank, eBay's own zero-based slot index for the result, next to the position the shopper actually sees.
• Commercial detail per result: price, original_price, currency, in_stock, seller, condition and an attributes list holding the card badges (condition, Buy It Now, delivery text).
• total_results, eBay's own count for the keyword, on every row, so a share denominator comes from the site itself.
• Duplicate keywords are collapsed to one capture, so a messy keyword list does not burn compute.

• keywords (required): the search terms to rank. Duplicates are ignored.
• locale: de, uk, fr, it or es. Default de.
• pages: result pages per keyword, 1 to 10. Each page is requested at 120 results.
• proxyConfiguration: residential in the storefront's country, which is the default.

Output

One dataset row per search result position.

eBay search cards carry no brand and no star rating, so brand, rating, rating_count and original_price are null on most rows. seller is parsed from the card's feedback line and can be null.

Use cases

• Share of search: count your id values inside the top N position rows per keyword, against total_results.
• Paid-slot share: group by is_sponsored and seller to see who buys the promoted positions on your keywords.
• Competitor price benchmarking at the rank where shoppers actually see it, using price and position together.
• Cross-market comparison: run one keyword list on de, uk, fr, it and es and compare rank and price side by side.
• Condition mix on a keyword, from condition and attributes, to spot used listings outranking new stock.

Notes and limits

• pages is capped at 10 per keyword. A verified run of shampoo on ebay.de at pages: 1 returned 120 rows, and the same keyword at pages: 2 on ebay.co.uk returned 240.
• Sponsored share is material. The verified single-page German run reported 15 sponsored results out of 120.
• eBay refuses a share of residential exits at session mint. The actor retries on a fresh exit up to six times, so an unlucky start adds minutes before the first row.
• Results are deduplicated by listing id within a keyword, so a listing repeated across pages is counted once.
• Prices are normalised to numbers in the storefront's currency, GBP on uk and EUR elsewhere.

FAQ

Do I need a proxy? Yes. Residential in the storefront's country (DE, GB, FR, IT or ES). The input already defaults to that.

How many results can I get? Up to 10 pages per keyword at 120 results per page. A verified page returned 120 rows.

Does it need a login or an API key? No. No eBay account and no API key.

How is sponsored detected? From eBay's own listing ledger embedded in the search page, which marks each result as promoted and gives its slot index. That is read directly, so the flag does not depend on how the card is styled.
