The Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation (DBPR) publishes its entire current construction-industry licensee file as a public record under Chapter 119, Florida Statutes - every certified and registered contractor, plus the qualified business organizations behind them - refreshed weekly. This actor turns that register into a charged-per-record lookup and screening tool.

Roughly half the file - 128,037 rows - is qualified business organizations, which carry no license number of their own; the other 134,129 rows hold a license number.

Every row carries the licensee / business name, the doing-business-as name, the license number, occupation, class code, mailing address, city, state, ZIP, decoded county, primary status (current / suspended / probation), secondary status (active / inactive), and original-licensure, effective and expiration dates. Dates come through as clean ISO (YYYY-MM-DD).

The register ships as raw codes - Florida's file has no header row, stores the county as a number (not a name), and the license status as a letter. This actor decodes all of it: 23 -> Miami-Dade, C -> Current, S -> Suspended, and a class code like GLZ -> Glass & Glazing Specialty. Out-of-state licensees are resolved to their home state (744 -> Texas).

Florida's register is a 46 MB, headerless flat file with no query server behind it - there is no way to ask the state for "just Lee County general contractors". Rather than make every lookup pay for a full-register download, the register is mirrored weekly, and each run queries the mirror in a single pass. That mirror is what lets a 262,166-row register behave like a live lookup at per-record pricing. Every pull is integrity-checked against the register's known shape (total count, occupation floors, the closed occupation vocabulary, key-column coverage), so a degraded or schema-changed source fails loudly instead of returning bad rows.
