Monitor all new U.S. recalls in one feed: FDA food, drug and medical-device enforcement reports, CPSC consumer-product recalls and NHTSA vehicle and equipment recalls. Every row has the product, reason or hazard, company, classification, quantity, remedy and a link to the official notice.
What you can use it for
- Retailers and marketplaces: check whether products you sell were recalled.
- Brand and supply-chain risk monitoring.
- Lawyers and journalists: track recalls by company or hazard.
- Apps and newsletters that alert consumers.
How it works
The actor calls the official openFDA, SaferProducts.gov (CPSC) and data.transportation.gov (NHTSA) APIs and normalises them into one schema with a 'source' column.
Input example
{"sources": ["fda-food","cpsc"],"daysBack": 7,"keywords": ["listeria","salmonella"],"maxItems": 200}
Every option is described in the Input tab. Set Max results to control how much you pay for.
Output example
{"source": "fda-food","recallId": "H-1339-2026","date": "2026-09-23","recallInitiationDate": "2026-08-22","title": "Everything Sprouts Crunchy Protein Sprout Mix, containing Alfalfa Fenugreek, Cabbage, Mung, Adzuki, Lentils, Green Pea, Net Wt. 5.0 oz (142 g) UPC 0 87906-01...","product": "Everything Sprouts Crunchy Protein Sprout Mix, containing Alfalfa Fenugreek, Cabbage, Mung, Adzuki, Lentils, Green Pea, Net Wt. 5.0 oz (142 g) UPC 0 87906-01...","reason": "Sprouts may be contaminated with STEC E. coli and/or Salmonella.","company": "Everything Sprouts, LLC","companyAddress": "2751 Minnehaha Ave, Minneapolis, MN, 55406-1546, United States","classification": "Class I","status": "Ongoing","distribution": "MN, WI","quantity": "201.56 pounds","codeInfo": "Lot# 222, 223, 226, 230","voluntaryOrMandated": "Voluntary: Firm initiated","url": "https://www.accessdata.fda.gov/scripts/ires/index.cfm?Event=99737"}

How to use it
- Click Try for free (new Apify accounts get monthly free credit).
- Fill in the input, for example to get every food and vehicle recall from the last 30 days.
- Click Start and download the results as Excel, CSV, JSON or HTML, or open them in Google Sheets.
How much does it cost?
You pay only for results: $2 per 1,000 product recalls (about $0.20 for 100), plus a fraction of a cent per run. Set Max results to cap your spend. Apify's free plan credit covers a lot of test runs.
Integrations and API
Use it as an FDA, CPSC and NHTSA recall alert feed. Run it on a schedule and send new results to Google Sheets, Slack, email, Zapier, Make, n8n or your own webhook, or call it from any language through the Apify API. It also works as a tool for AI agents through Apify's MCP server.
Scheduling
Use Apify Schedules to run the actor daily or weekly and get only the latest records, for example with Days back set to 1 or 7.
