Crunchbase Scraper — Funding Rounds, Companies & Investors

Scrape Crunchbase funding rounds, company profiles, and investors without a Crunchbase Pro subscription. Three output modes, one actor.

Target site: crunchbase.com

What It Does

Returns structured records across three entity types — companies, funding rounds and investors. You pick the mode, set filters, and get a dataset back.

Three modes:

ModeRow typeUse case
roundsOne row per funding roundDeal sourcing, VC pipeline tracking
companiesOne row per companyMarket research, sales prospecting
investorsOne row per investorFinding co-investors, mapping the VC landscape

Clears Crunchbase's bot challenge automatically, then pulls records fast.

Input

FieldTypeRequiredDescription
modestringNorounds, companies, or investors. Default: rounds
companySlugsarrayNoCrunchbase slugs for direct company lookup (e.g. openai, anthropic). Companies mode only.
investorSlugsarrayNoCrunchbase investor slugs (e.g. sequoia-capital). In rounds mode: only rounds these investors took part in. In investors mode: direct investor lookup.
leadInvestorOnlybooleanNoRounds mode with investorSlugs: keep only rounds those investors led. Default: false.
categoriesarrayNoCategory slugs to filter by (e.g. artificial-intelligence, fintech). Rounds and companies mode.
locationsarrayNoLocation names to filter by (e.g. United States, Europe). Companies mode; in rounds mode it needs Crunchbase Pro cookies and the run stops with a clear message without them.
companyLocationsarrayNoRounds mode, no cookies needed. Keep only rounds whose funded company is headquartered in these places (e.g. London, United Kingdom). Every row carries headquarters, website, description and categories and is billed at the premium record rate. Max Items counts matching rows.
includeCompanyDetailsbooleanNoRounds mode. Fill website, description, headquarters, categories and employee range on the round rows. Rows with company details are billed at the premium record rate. Default: false (rows and billing unchanged).
roundTypesarrayNoRound types to filter (e.g. seed, series_a, series_b). Rounds mode only.
announcedAfterstringNoRounds announced on or after this date. Format: YYYY-MM-DD. Rounds mode only.
announcedBeforestringNoRounds announced on or before this date. Format: YYYY-MM-DD. Combine with announcedAfter for a date range. Rounds mode only.
minAmountUsdintegerNoMinimum round size in USD. Set 0 for no minimum. Rounds mode only.
crunchbaseCookiesstringNoYour Crunchbase Pro session cookies. Unlocks pre/post-money valuations and full investor data.
maxItemsintegerNoMaximum records to return. Default: 10.

Example — Rounds

{
"mode": "rounds",
"categories": ["artificial-intelligence"],
"announcedAfter": "2025-01-01",
"roundTypes": ["series_a", "series_b"],
"minAmountUsd": 5000000,
"maxItems": 100
}

Example — Daily alert: new rounds since yesterday

Rounds come back newest first, so a scheduled run with announcedAfter set to yesterday's date returns just the new rounds, most recent at the top.

{
"mode": "rounds",
"announcedAfter": "2026-10-22",
"roundTypes": ["seed", "series_a"],
"maxItems": 100
}

Example — Every round a given investor led

{
"mode": "rounds",
"investorSlugs": ["sequoia-capital"],
"leadInvestorOnly": true,
"announcedAfter": "2026-01-01",
"announcedBefore": "2026-09-30",
"maxItems": 50
}

Example — Company Slugs

{
"mode": "companies",
"companySlugs": ["openai", "anthropic", "mistral-ai"],
"maxItems": 10
}

Example — Investors

{
"mode": "investors",
"investorSlugs": ["sequoia-capital", "andreessen-horowitz", "khosla-ventures"],
"maxItems": 10
}

Output

All three modes produce flat records. Fields not applicable to the current mode are null.

Company details on round rows (includeCompanyDetails, companyLocations)

By default a round row names the funded company and nothing more. With includeCompanyDetails on (or any companyLocations), these fields are filled from the company's profile: website, description, headquarters_city, headquarters_country, employees_range, categories. linkedin_url, twitter_url and facebook_url are filled only when you supply Crunchbase Pro cookies. founded_year is not available without Pro cookies and stays null. A row whose company could not be found stays on the standard record rate.

companyLocations checks each funded company's headquarters and keeps the matches, newest round first. A place that is a small share of all rounds takes more checking: in our measurement London was about 5 in 100 seed and pre-seed rounds, so 25 London rows meant checking about 460 rounds. Rounds that are checked and dropped are not billed. The check stops after about 25 minutes and returns what it found, so for a rare place narrow announcedAfter.

Round amount (amount_raised_usd) and the full investor list are not available without Pro cookies, with or without these options.

Pro Cookies (Optional)

Without Pro cookies, the actor returns round types, announcement dates, funded companies, lead investors (names and URLs), and the number of investors in each round. The amount raised, the full investor list, valuations and last-updated dates are gated behind a Crunchbase Pro account. Crunchbase also limits how many rounds a single day can show without Pro; a day with an unusually large number of rounds in one round type and size band may return only the first 15 of them, and the run log says so.

To provide Pro cookies, log into Crunchbase in your browser, open DevTools → Application → Cookies → copy all cookies for crunchbase.com into the crunchbaseCookies field as name=value; name2=value2 pairs. An expired or invalid paste degrades to the free-tier field set rather than failing the run.

With Pro cookies, the following fields unlock: amount_raised_usd, all_investors, all_investor_names, all_investor_urls, pre_money_valuation_usd, post_money_valuation_usd, last_updated_at, stock_symbol.

Technical Notes

  • The bot challenge is cleared automatically
  • Dynamic field probing at runtime — automatically excludes Pro-gated fields to avoid errors
  • Category filtering via funded_organization_categories
  • Memory: 2 GB recommended

Pricing

Pay-per-event pricing:

  • $0.10 per run start
  • $0.01 per record scraped
