SEC EDGAR Filing Search (Official API)

Search SEC EDGAR filings through the SEC's own endpoints. No scraping, no API key.

Two modes

Full-text search — search the content of filings. Find every filing that mentions a phrase, optionally limited to certain form types and dates.

Company submissions — list one company's filing history by ticker or CIK, including form type, filing date, accession number and document links.

Why this Actor

• Official endpoints only. efts.sec.gov full-text search and data.sec.gov submissions. No HTML page scraping.
• No API key. SEC publishes this data openly.
• Public domain. U.S. government works.
• Respects SEC fair access. Requests are rate limited and carry the contact you provide.
• Real document links. Every row includes a working document_url and filing_index_url.

Required: your contact

SEC's fair access policy requires automated requests to identify the requester. Put your name and email in the Your contact input, for example:

The Actor refuses to run without it. This is sent to SEC in the User-Agent header, as SEC asks.

Full-text mode returns, per filing:

Submissions mode adds report_date, acceptance_date_time, size, is_xbrl, core_type, act, file_number and more.

Limits worth knowing

• SEC full-text search caps paging at 10,000 results per query. Narrow with dates or forms.
• Full-text search covers filings from 2001 onward; older documents are reachable in submissions mode.
• include_older_filings fetches archived history files. It is slower and costs extra requests.
