USGS Earthquake Monitor & GeoJSON Export

Search USGS earthquake events by time, magnitude, depth, review status, alert level, or map bounds. Export normalized events as GeoJSON data.

This independent Actor is not endorsed by USGS. It uses earthquake data only, not third-party photographs or graphics.

Try this first

Start with the example input below to retrieve recent earthquakes of magnitude 4 or greater. Results are written to the default dataset with coordinates, review fields, alert data, and official links.

This preview is generated from a checked-in official-source fixture. It shows the normalized output shape without inventing live demand or results.

Input and output

Search 1 to 365 days, magnitude and depth ranges, optional latitude/longitude bounds, review status, alert level, and up to 20,000 events. Each dataset row contains the stable event ID, title, place, magnitude, UTC timestamps, coordinates, depth, review and impact fields, tsunami flag, official links, request URL, and attribution.

Reliability and limits

  • Official USGS FDSN Event Web Service and GeoJSON only; no browser, proxy, account, key, or paid service.
  • One bounded request per run, the official 20,000-event maximum, stable-ID deduplication, field coverage, and explicit empty results.
  • Earthquake parameters can be revised as networks review events. Use updatedAt and the official event page for current scientific information.
  • This is a data tool, not an emergency-warning service. Follow local authorities for safety instructions.

Pricing

  • Actor start: USD 0.00005
  • Normalized earthquake event: USD 0.001

A two-result Apify smoke run on 256 MB used USD 0.0001133494 of platform resources and completed in 4.284 seconds. The Actor is publicly available with the pricing above.

Source and reuse
