Live Sample Dataset & Verified Run Benchmark

Two runs on 2026-11-03 on Apify Cloud, build 0.1.18. Both datasets are public: open the JSON or CSV link in a browser, no login and no run needed.

List run — S5eS5pDw8tmP55jTe · 30 rows · 59 columns · 51.4 s · charged apify-actor-start 1, listing-scraped 30. JSON · CSV

Detail run — NKzfYF6JWRXOtTabN · 3 rows · 59 columns · 43.9 s · charged listing-scraped 3, detail-scraped 3. JSON · CSV

Fill rate on the 30-row list sample: priceNumeric 10/30, bedrooms 28/30, estimate_value 0/30. Empty cells are honest: the portal prints “Contact Agent”, “Auction” or “Price withheld”, so priceNumeric stays null instead of guessing. The detail run is the place to see agent phone, description and history.

Open the sample, compare the three rows with the source pages, check the $2.005 and $8.005 lines below, and note the 50-row free limit. That is the whole test, under five minutes.

What does the OnTheHouse.com.au Scraper do?

OnTheHouse.com.au is the consumer property portal built on Cotality (formerly CoreLogic) data. This Actor turns any suburb search into a table of buy, rent and sold listings, without opening a page by hand.

You pick a state, a suburb and a postcode. The Actor builds the search URL, reads the server-rendered result set and returns one row per property. Three channels are supported: buy, rent and sold.

Each row carries the printed price, rooms, land size, GPS coordinates, agency, agent and agent phone. Sold rows add the Cotality valuation and sale date. Detail mode adds the full description, features, a multi-decade event chain and four suburb medians.

The Actor runs on Apify, exports to CSV, Excel, Sheets or JSON, and can run daily to track new, repriced and removed listings.

Why scrape OnTheHouse.com.au with this Actor?

Three things separate this portal from the other Australian listing sites. All three were measured on live pages.

1. Agent phones in list mode. A buy or rent search page already prints agent1_phone, agency_phone, agency_name, the full description and GPS coordinates inside each result card. A 10-listing Buderim run returned an agent phone on 10 of 10 rows. You do not pay a detail event to get a phone number.

2. Cotality valuations on the sold channel, also in list mode. A sold search returns estimate_value, estimate_low, estimate_high, estimate_confidence and year_built. A 10-row Golden Beach run returned an estimate on 10 of 10 rows.

3. Detail mode unlocks what the list hides. With includeDetails: true, the Actor reads the property page and adds the numeric price even when the card says "Contact Agent" or "Inspect By Appointment Only", the full sale and rent event chain going back decades (one measured chain starts in 1989), the photo count, the feature list, and four suburb metrics: median value, 12-month growth, median asking rent and gross rental yield.

The site sits behind Imperva Incapsula: a plain request gets a 212-byte challenge page. This Actor uses a proxy group that returns the real page and retries three times.

Honesty rule: when a page prints "Contact Agent", "Auction" or "Sale price not available", the price stays empty. A guessed price is worse than a blank cell.

Coverage measured on Sprint 11 cloud runs:

  • Buy, 10 rows: address, price text, rooms, agency, agent, phone, URL and coordinates at 100%; land size 60%; numeric price 2 of 10, because eight were auctions or "Contact Agent".
  • Sold, 10 rows: sale date and Cotality estimate at 100%; numeric price 6 of 10. Agent fields are empty: the portal prints none on a sold record.

How to scrape OnTheHouse.com.au listings and price history

  1. Choose buy, rent or sold.
  2. Enter a state, a suburb and a postcode.
  3. Leave includeDetails off for a fast list run.
  4. Set maxItems, then run and export.

For a price watch, save the run as a task with a daily schedule and set onlyEmitChanges to true. You get new, repriced and removed rows, tracked by first_seen_at, last_seen_at and changeStatus.

Paste a search URL into startUrls to read a street or a custom search.

maxPages reads more result pages, 24 rows each. The response also carries the portal's own total, so you can check coverage.

How much does it cost to scrape OnTheHouse.com.au?

Pricing is pay-per-event. All Apify platform compute and residential/unblocker proxy usage is 100% included in the per-event price. You never pay a separate compute-unit or proxy surcharge.

  • List Mode (includeDetails: false): $2.005 per 1,000 listings on the Apify Standard tier ($0.005 actor start + 1,000 × $0.002 per listing), or ~$1.60 per 1,000 on Apify Scale/Business discounted tiers.
  • Full Detail Mode (includeDetails: true): $8.005 per 1,000 listings with full details on the Apify Standard tier ($0.005 actor start + 1,000 × $0.002 listing + 1,000 × $0.006 detail add-on), or ~$6.40 per 1,000 on discounted tiers. A 3-row detail test run costs exactly $0.029.
  • Free plan limit: Free Apify accounts can extract up to 50 rows per run, enough to inspect the full schema, verify field fill rates and test a suburb before upgrading. Paid Apify plans unlock unlimited rows per run.
  • Detail rows are billed whether they are live or served from the cache, because the customer receives the data in both cases.

Pro Tip for buyers' agents and investors: run the same state, suburb and postcode on all four Actors, export each dataset to Google Sheets or CSV, and join on fullAddress. You get asking prices and agent phones from the listing portals, sold history from Property.com.au, and Cotality valuation ranges plus suburb yield from OnTheHouse.

Disclaimer

This Actor reads publicly visible pages. It does not log in, bypass a paywall, or scrape private data. Property data changes often, so verify anything you rely on for a transaction against the portal itself. Respect the site's terms of use and your local law.

Custom work

Need extra fields, a private dataset, or a daily feed into your CRM? Open an issue on the Actor page and describe the suburb set and the fields you need.

Pairs well with

Run this Actor after a listing Actor to add valuations, or before a spreadsheet model to fill the sold and rent side of a suburb.

Does this Actor return agent phone numbers?

Yes, on buy and rent, in list mode: 10 of 10 Buderim rows carried a mobile. The sold channel prints no agent.

Where does the valuation come from?

The portal shows a Cotality automated valuation. The Actor copies the value, range, confidence and calculation date as printed. It never invents one.

Why is priceNumeric empty on some rows?

The page prints "Contact Agent", "Auction" or "Sale price not available". includeDetails reads the numeric price when the page exposes it; otherwise the field stays empty.

Can I track price drops daily?

Yes. Schedule the task daily with onlyEmitChanges on. changeStatus returns NEW, PRICE_DROP, PRICE_INCREASE or REMOVED.

The Actor reads public pages only. Storage and resale depend on the site's terms and your jurisdiction. This is not legal advice.
