Every new building permitted in Cincinnati, with the builder and project cost. About 2¢ a lead.

This feed comes from the City of Cincinnati Department of Buildings & Inspections permit dataset, filtered to work class New, so work on existing buildings is left out. By default you get the Building permits for new structures: about 15 a month, from infill homes to $100M+ hotels and apartments. Switch on the trade permit types (plumbing, HVAC, fire protection, excavation) and that grows to 140+ new-work permits a month. Each lead has the address, neighborhood, proposed use group, units, square footage, estimated project cost, permit fee, parcel id and the contractor company.

Filters

  • Permit types: Building by default; add Plumbing Permits, HVAC, Fire Protection Systems, Excavation/Fill
  • Proposed uses (contains): 1-2-3 FM, R-2, R-1, B, M, A-2
  • Neighborhoods and ZIP codes
  • Minimum estimated project cost
  • Issue-date range

Set it up as a daily lead feed

  1. Set your filters. Leaving Permit types empty gives you new-building permits only (add Plumbing Permits, HVAC and so on for trade permits); any other filter left empty means no filter.
  2. Keep Only new since last run on. Each run returns only leads you haven't seen.
  3. Click Schedule → Daily, then connect Google Sheets, HubSpot, Salesforce, Slack, Zapier or Make so fresh leads land in your tools automatically.

Runs with nothing new cost almost nothing, because you only pay for the leads you get.

FAQ

Where does the data come from? The "Cincinnati Building Permits" dataset (uhjb-xac9) on data.cincinnati-oh.gov, the City of Cincinnati's official open-data portal, updated daily. Does it include phone numbers? No. The city publishes the contractor company name but not phone or email. Enrich with your usual tool. Why so few rows with the default filter? Cincinnati issues roughly 10-25 new-structure building permits a month. Add the trade permit types to see every permit tied to new construction. Is it only new construction? Yes. Only work class "New" (residential and commercial) is returned. Permits on existing buildings and withdrawn permits are excluded. How do I avoid duplicates? Keep "Only new since last run" on, and use a different dedupe store name for each separate feed.

Need another city? Request it in the Issues tab. LeadSignal adds new feeds regularly.
