Export albums, episodes and anchors from Ximalaya (喜马拉雅, ximalaya.com), China's largest audio platform — audiobooks (有声书), podcasts, courses, crosstalk, radio dramas and kids' content with plays, subscribers, rating, comment count, tags, price and VIP flags, creation and update dates, the anchor's followers, and every episode's plays, likes, comments, shares, duration and publication time — as clean JSON, CSV or Excel, without a login.
Independent tool. Not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Ximalaya (喜马拉雅) or its operators. "Ximalaya" and "喜马拉雅" are trademarks of their owner and are used here only to describe the website this Actor reads. It reads public pages and the public data behind them; it does not log in, does not download audio and does not bypass any paywall.
Ximalaya Scraper is a Ximalaya data scraper for the Chinese audio market. It turns keyword searches, Ximalaya's 28 categories and 619 subcategories, pasted album, episode, anchor, category and search URLs — or the whole catalogue, category by category — into structured data: album title and subtitle, short and full description, category and subcategory, tags, play count, subscribers (订阅), number of episodes, listener rating out of 10, comment count, paid or free, price per episode or per album in 喜点, VIP-free flag, the VIP / SVIP / 付费 badge, finished (完结) or still updating (连载), creation and last-update dates, cover image, and the anchor (主播) with followers, number of albums and episodes, level and introduction. Turn on episodes and you also get every episode (声音) of every album: title, position in the album, duration, plays, likes, comments, shares, publication time and whether it plays free. Use it to scrape ximalaya.com by keyword or category, as a Ximalaya API alternative (Ximalaya's open platform needs an approved developer account and an app; this needs nothing), or to export Ximalaya data to CSV, Excel or JSON for your spreadsheet, BI tool, CRM or data warehouse. No Ximalaya account, no cookies, no browser, no app.
Publishers, audiobook producers, podcast networks, brand and influencer-marketing teams, investors and market researchers, language-learning and kids-education companies and AI teams use it for 喜马拉雅数据采集 (Ximalaya data collection), 喜马拉雅爬虫 (Ximalaya crawler), 有声书数据 (audiobook data), 播客数据导出 (podcast data export), 喜马拉雅专辑抓取 (album scraping), 主播数据分析 (anchor analytics) and 播放量统计 (play-count statistics): top albums per category, competitor catalogues, price research on paid audio, creator (KOL) discovery with follower counts, daily monitoring of new releases, and Chinese audio metadata for recommendation and search models. Typical searches it answers: Ximalaya scraper, Ximalaya API, scrape Ximalaya albums, Ximalaya podcast data, Chinese audiobook dataset, Ximalaya play count, Ximalaya anchor followers, Himalaya FM data export and 喜马拉雅 数据 导出 Excel. All numbers on this page were measured on 2026-10-25 from runs on the Apify platform.

What you get
Every row has a type: album, track (an episode) or anchor. One run can mix them — for example an anchor, the anchor's albums and every episode of those albums — and each type keeps its own columns, so the dataset views below split them cleanly.
Albums (专辑) — 40 columns
- Identity:
id,url,title(Chinese, as on Ximalaya),subtitle(the selling line under the title),coverUrl(original-size cover). - Descriptions:
intro(the short intro shown in lists) anddescription(the full album introduction as plain text with paragraphs — inline formatting removed without breaking Chinese sentences). - Category:
categoryId,categoryName(有声书, 儿童, 相声评书, 人文国学 …),subcategoryNamefrom the album's own breadcrumb,tagsas an array. - Audience:
playCount(all episodes together, e.g. 9,456,765,147 for one of the most played audiobooks),subscriberCount,trackCount,commentCount,score(listener rating out of 10). - Money:
isPaid,vipFree(Ximalaya VIP members listen free),badgeexactly as the cover shows it (VIP, SVIP or 付费),priceType(per_episodeorwhole_album),price,discountedPriceandpriceUnit(喜点/集 or 喜点 — Ximalaya's own unit; 1 喜点 = 1 CNY). - Status and dates:
isFinished(完结 = true, 连载 = false),createdAt,updatedAt. - The anchor:
anchorId,anchorName,anchorUrl,anchorAvatarUrl,anchorFollowers,anchorAlbumCount,anchorTrackCount,anchorGrade(主播等级),anchorIntro. - Where it came from:
source(search, category, anchor, album, url),query(keyword, category list with its order, anchor or URL),position(rank in that Ximalaya list),scrapedAt.
Episodes (声音) — 27 columns
id, url, title, albumId, albumTitle, albumUrl, anchorId, anchorName, durationSec, playCount, likeCount, commentCount, shareCount, createdAt (publication time, UTC), orderInAlbum, isPaid, isFree (true for every episode of a free album and for the free trial episodes of a paid one), price and priceUnit for paid per-episode albums, previewSeconds (length of the free preview of a paid episode), isVideo, coverUrl, source, query, position, scrapedAt.

Who uses it — 16 workflows
1. Audiobook publishers and rights holders (有声书版权方)
Pull the 2,500 most played albums of 有声书 and of its subcategories (悬疑, 都市, 言情, 历史 …) with plays, subscribers, rating and price, then rank titles by plays per episode or subscribers per month since createdAt. Publishers use the list to decide which novels to license for audio, which narrators (anchors) draw the biggest audiences and which price points (priceType, price) the best sellers use.
2. Podcast networks and audio producers
Benchmark your shows against competitors in the same category: playCount, subscriberCount, commentCount, score, trackCount and updatedAt show reach, loyalty, engagement and release cadence. With episodes on, createdAt per episode gives the real publishing rhythm and playCount per episode shows which topics work.
3. Influencer and KOL marketing agencies
Search anchors by topic (searchType: anchor, keywords like 育儿, 理财, 英语, 健身) and get followers, albums, episodes, level, verification and its title, province and city — a creator shortlist with reach and location, ready for outreach planning. Verified organisations show their company name in verifiedTitle.
4. Brand and audio-advertising planners
Before buying audio sponsorships, list the albums of a category or of a set of anchors with plays and subscribers; sort by playCount and updatedAt to keep only shows that are both big and still publishing.
5. Market researchers and investment analysts covering Chinese online audio
Category-level snapshots on a schedule (the same input every week) give time series of plays, subscribers and prices per album; the share of paid, VIP-free and free albums per category; how many albums are finished versus ongoing; and which anchors grow fastest. Every number is the site's own, with the date of the run in scrapedAt.
6. Content strategy teams at Chinese media and publishing companies
Read the recently updated (最近更新) lists of a category every day to see what is being released; read the most played lists to see what lasts. Tags and subcategories show which themes cluster together.
7. Language-learning companies
Export the 外语 category (英语, 日语, 韩语, 法语 …) or search 雅思, 托福, 英语听力: albums with plays, ratings, prices and the anchor's followers show which courses and teachers lead and what they charge.
8. Kids' education and children's content companies
儿童 and 少儿素养 hold millions of albums (Ximalaya reports 2,844,613 in 儿童's list). Export the most played per subcategory (儿童文学, 科普百科, 少儿英语, 国学, 哄睡 …) with prices and ratings to map the market and find gaps.
9. Translators and international publishers looking for Chinese IP
Web novels and audio dramas with huge audio audiences are candidates for translation or adaptation. Search a genre or browse 有声书 › 幻想 / 武侠 / 悬疑, sort by plays and read the full description (author, narrator, synopsis as the album page gives it).
10. Creators and anchors benchmarking themselves
Paste your own anchor page plus a few competitors: one row per anchor with followers and counts, then every album with plays, subscribers, rating and comments. Turn on episodes to compare per-episode plays and likes.
11. Pricing research on paid audio
priceType (per episode or whole album), price, discountedPrice, priceUnit, vipFree and badge across thousands of paid albums show how Ximalaya content is monetised: per-episode prices in 喜点/集, album prices in 喜点, which albums are included in VIP and which need SVIP.
12. Academic research — media studies, Chinese studies, sociology
Ximalaya mirrors Chinese reading and listening habits: crosstalk (相声), storytelling (评书), history, self-improvement, bedtime stories. Exports with categories, tags, plays and dates support quantitative studies; the description and intro texts support content analysis.
13. AI, search and recommendation teams
Clean, typed Chinese audio metadata — titles, intros, tags, categories, plays, ratings, durations — is good training and evaluation data for recommendation models, query understanding and Chinese text classification, and good grounding data for RAG over audio catalogues.
14. Competitor monitoring for audio apps
List a category's top albums every week and compare with your own catalogue: which titles you lack, how big their audiences are, whether they are exclusive (paid / VIP) or free.
15. Journalists and data reporters
Who are China's biggest audio creators? Which history podcasts lead? How much does a paid self-help course cost? Every answer here comes with the site's own numbers and links.
16. Data resellers and dataset builders
Build a Chinese audio-content dataset category by category; the query and position columns document exactly which Ximalaya list and rank each row came from, which keeps the dataset auditable.
Cookbook — 18 ready-to-run inputs
Every input below is complete JSON you can paste into the Console's JSON editor or send to the API. Fields you leave out keep their defaults (details on, episodes off, 1,000 results).
1. Keyword search for albums (the default example)
{"searchKeywords": ["三国演义"],"maxItems": 100}
100 albums matching 三国演义 in Ximalaya's relevance order, each completed from its album page.
2. Several keywords, most played first
{"searchKeywords": ["盗墓笔记", "鬼吹灯", "三体"],"searchSort": "plays","maxItems": 300}
Each keyword gets a fair share (100 each) first; if one has fewer results, the others fill the rest.
3. The 1,000 most played audiobooks
{"categories": ["youshengshu"],"categorySort": "popular","maxItems": 1000}
4. Recently updated albums in one subcategory
{"categories": ["youshengshu"],"subcategories": ["悬疑"],"categorySort": "updated","maxItems": 500}
Subcategories can be written in Chinese (悬疑) or as the code in Ximalaya's URL (reci232).
5. A deep export of a whole category (10,000+ albums)
{"categories": ["youshengshu"],"maxItems": 12000}
One Ximalaya list stops at 2,500 albums; the scraper continues subcategory by subcategory and then in the other two orders, skipping repeats. This exact input returned 12,000 unique albums on 2026-10-25.
6. Several categories at once
{"categories": ["lishi", "renwen", "shangye", "gerenchengzhang"],"categorySort": "popular","maxItems": 2000}
7. The whole catalogue, category by category
{"maxItems": 10000}
With no keywords, categories or URLs, the run reads all 28 categories with a fair share each.
8. Every episode of one album
{"startUrls": ["https://www.ximalaya.com/album/3475911"],"includeTracks": true,"maxItems": 0}
maxItems: 0 means no limit: one album row plus all 134 episodes.
9. The latest 20 episodes of several albums
{"startUrls": ["https://www.ximalaya.com/album/77855794","https://www.ximalaya.com/album/47517749"],"includeTracks": true,"maxTracksPerAlbum": 20,"trackOrder": "reverse"}
"Reverse" flips the album's own order. Albums that list the oldest episode first then give the newest first; check orderInAlbum in the output.
10. Episode search
{"searchKeywords": ["郭德纲"],"searchType": "track","searchSort": "plays","maxItems": 500}
11. Anchor (creator) discovery by topic
{"searchKeywords": ["英语", "雅思", "托福"],"searchType": "anchor","maxItems": 300}
12. One anchor's complete catalogue
{"startUrls": ["https://www.ximalaya.com/zhubo/1266964"],"maxItems": 200}
The anchor's profile row, then every album of the anchor, each completed from its album page.
13. Anchor profiles only
{"startUrls": ["anchor:1266964", "anchor:10778196", "https://www.ximalaya.com/zhubo/35878101"],"includeAnchorAlbums": false}
14. A category page pasted from the browser
{"startUrls": ["https://www.ximalaya.com/youshengshu/wenxue/"],"maxItems": 300}
Category URLs keep their subcategory and order (/mostplays/, /updates/).
15. Single episodes by URL
{"startUrls": ["https://www.ximalaya.com/sound/118368677", "track:470135433"]}
16. Fast list-only export
{"categories": ["ertong"],"includeDetails": false,"maxItems": 5000}
Without details a category list gives only what the list shows — title, cover, anchor, plays, episodes, paid, finished and badge; the other album columns stay empty. In exchange it is about five times faster: 1,000 albums in 16.7 s instead of 79 s (measured 2026-10-25). Keyword searches stay rich without details, because Ximalaya's search already returns intro, category, tags, subscribers, rating, comments and price.
17. Daily new-release monitoring (schedule this)
{"categories": ["lishi", "shangye"],"categorySort": "updated","maxItems": 200}
Run it on an Apify schedule every morning and keep only ids you have not seen.
18. Paid-content price research
{"categories": ["shangye", "gerenchengzhang", "waiyu"],"categorySort": "popular","maxItems": 3000}
Filter the result on isPaid = true and compare priceType, price, priceUnit, vipFree and badge.
Tutorial: your first run in the Apify Console
- Open the Actor and click Try for free (or Start if you already use it).
- In Search keywords type what you are looking for — Chinese works best on Ximalaya (三国演义, 郭德纲, 英语听力), English titles and names work too.
- Choose Search for: albums, episodes or anchors. Or leave the keywords empty and pick Categories instead.
- Set Max results — 20 for a first look, 1,000 or more for real work.
- Click Start. Rows appear in the Output tab within a few seconds; the status line shows how many albums, episodes and anchors are saved.
- When the run says Succeeded, open Storage → Dataset and export JSON, CSV or Excel — or pick one of the views (Albums, Album details, Episodes, Anchors) to see only those columns.
The Run summary (key-value store, record SUMMARY) lists what was read: lists and pages, album details, episode lists, retries, which route answered, latency per endpoint and why the run stopped.
Tutorial: run it from the API
1. Get your token
Apify Console → Settings → Integrations → API token.
2. Run and get the data in one call (small runs)
curl -X POST "https://api.apify.com/v2/acts/logiover~ximalaya-scraper/run-sync-get-dataset-items?token=YOUR_TOKEN&format=json" \-H "Content-Type: application/json" \-d '{"searchKeywords":["三国演义"],"maxItems":50}'
3. Start a run and fetch the data later (big runs)
# startcurl -X POST "https://api.apify.com/v2/acts/logiover~ximalaya-scraper/runs?token=YOUR_TOKEN" \-H "Content-Type: application/json" \-d '{"categories":["youshengshu"],"maxItems":10000}'# poll: GET https://api.apify.com/v2/actor-runs/RUN_ID?token=YOUR_TOKEN (status SUCCEEDED)# data: GET https://api.apify.com/v2/datasets/DATASET_ID/items?format=csv&token=YOUR_TOKEN
4. Node.js (apify-client)
import { ApifyClient } from 'apify-client';const client = new ApifyClient({ token: process.env.APIFY_TOKEN });const run = await client.actor('logiover/ximalaya-scraper').call({categories: ['youshengshu'],subcategories: ['悬疑'],categorySort: 'popular',maxItems: 500,});const { items } = await client.dataset(run.defaultDatasetId).listItems();const albums = items.filter((x) => x.type === 'album');console.log(albums[0].title, albums[0].playCount, albums[0].score);
5. Python (apify-client)
from apify_client import ApifyClientclient = ApifyClient("YOUR_TOKEN")run = client.actor("logiover/ximalaya-scraper").call(run_input={"startUrls": ["https://www.ximalaya.com/album/3475911"],"includeTracks": True,"maxItems": 0,})rows = list(client.dataset(run["defaultDatasetId"]).iterate_items())episodes = [r for r in rows if r["type"] == "track"]print(len(episodes), sum(e["playCount"] or 0 for e in episodes))
6. Read the run summary
GET https://api.apify.com/v2/key-value-stores/STORE_ID/records/SUMMARY?token=YOUR_TOKEN (the run's default key-value store) returns the outcome, rows by type, every source with how many results Ximalaya reported, the work done, retries, the route used and latency per endpoint.
Input reference
| Field | Type | Default | What it does |
|---|---|---|---|
searchKeywords | array of strings | [] | Keywords to search on Ximalaya (Chinese or English). Each keyword is one search. |
searchType | album / track / anchor | album | What the keyword search returns: albums (专辑), episodes (声音) or anchors (主播). |
searchSort | relevance / plays / newest | relevance | Ximalaya's search order. Beyond 3,000 results the run continues with the other orders, then per category. |
categories | array of category codes | [] | Categories to browse, e.g. youshengshu (有声书), xiangsheng (相声评书), lishi (历史), ertong (儿童). Chinese names, English labels and ids are accepted too. |
subcategories | array of strings | [] | Only these subcategories of the chosen categories, by Chinese name (悬疑) or URL code (reci232). |
categorySort | popular / recommended / updated | popular | Order of category lists: 播放最多, 综合排序 or 最近更新. |
startUrls | array of strings | [] | Album, episode, anchor, category or search URLs (www or m.ximalaya.com), or ids: a bare number is an album id; track:<id> and anchor:<id> for the others. |
includeDetails | boolean | true | Complete every album from its album page (and its rating), every anchor from the profile, every searched episode from the episode's info. Off: about five times faster for category lists, with fewer columns. |
includeTracks | boolean | false | Also save every episode of every album the run saves. |
maxTracksPerAlbum | integer | 0 | With episodes on: at most this many per album (0 = all). |
trackOrder | default / reverse | default | With episodes on: the album's own order or the reverse. |
includeAnchorAlbums | boolean | true | For pasted anchors: also save the anchor's albums. |
maxItems | integer | 1000 | Maximum rows in total (albums + episodes + anchors). 0 = no limit. |
maxConcurrency | integer | 20 | Parallel requests to Ximalaya (1–40). |
proxyConfiguration | proxy object | no proxy | Optional. Without it the run uses the direct connection and falls back on its own. |
How the inputs combine: pasted albums and episodes are read first, then every list (each anchor's albums, each search, each category) gets a fair share of maxItems; when a list runs out, the others fill the rest. Every row is de-duplicated by its Ximalaya id across the whole run, so an album found by two keywords is saved once.
Output data dictionary
Fill rates were measured on 2026-10-25: albums on a 1,000-album run of 有声书 (most played, details on), episodes on a 1,484-episode run of 相声评书 albums, anchors on a 1,000-anchor search run over eight keywords. "Only paid" or "only verified" fields are empty for the others by nature.

Deeper runs. The table above describes the 1,000 most played albums. On the 12,000-album run of 有声书 (the category's top 2,500 plus the most played albums of all 59 subcategories) the optional album columns are filled less often, because smaller albums often have no intro, tags or rating on Ximalaya — we opened such albums' pages and they are empty there too: intro / description 78.3 %, subtitle 67.7 %, isFinished 63.1 %, score 58.0 %, badge / priceType / price 34.5 % (the share of paid albums), tags 32.0 %, anchorIntro 82.3 %, anchorGrade 98.4 %, commentCount 99.9 %; every other column 100 %.
Values are exactly what Ximalaya shows: numbers are numbers, dates are ISO 8601, Chinese text is UTF-8, links are absolute https:// URLs. Nothing is masked and nothing is invented: a value Ximalaya does not give is null, never 0 or a placeholder.

Scale and speed (measured)
All runs on the Apify platform, 2026-10-25, default settings (1,024 MB memory, 20 parallel requests, no proxy) unless stated.
| Run | Rows | Time | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|
| Prefill input: 三国演义, 20 albums, details on | 20 | 6.1 s to 15.2 s end to end (three runs) | first row after 1.7–3.2 s |
| 有声书, most played, 1,000 albums, details on | 1,000 | 79 s | first row after 1.7 s, 0 duplicates, 2,021 requests |
| 有声书, 12,000 albums, details on | 12,000 | 996 s | 0 duplicates; whole category list + all 59 subcategory lists in rotation; first row after 2 s |
| 相声评书 albums + their episodes (≤100 each) | 1,500 (16 albums, 1,484 episodes) | 7.7 s | episodes come 200 to a request |
| Anchor search, 8 keywords, profiles on | 1,000 | 50 s | 125 anchors per keyword (fair share) |
Throughput with details on is about 12 albums per second (two requests per album: the album page and its rating). Episodes are fast because one request returns 200 of them; anchors take one profile request each. With details off a category list runs about five times faster (1,000 albums in 16.7 s) but carries fewer columns.
How big lists are read completely
Ximalaya serves at most 2,500 albums per category list (50 pages × 50; page 51 repeats page 50) and at most 3,000 results per search order (page ≤ 50 and offset + page size ≤ 3,000; further pages are refused). The scraper:
- reads the list you asked for to its end;
- for categories, continues with each subcategory in the same order, then with the other two orders (综合排序, 最近更新, 播放最多);
- for searches, continues with the other two orders and then the same search filtered by each category;
- drops every album, episode or anchor it has already saved (by Ximalaya id).
So the depth of a run is bounded by the number of distinct lists, not by one list. Ximalaya's own counts are much larger than any list (it reports 1,632,371 albums for 有声书), and the less popular end of a giant category is only reachable through narrower lists or keywords — see Honest limits.
What you pay
This Actor is priced per result (each saved row — album, episode or anchor — is one result). There are no extra charges for details or episodes: a detailed album costs the same as a list-only one.
| Results | Free plan | Bronze | Silver | Gold, Platinum, Diamond |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| per 1,000 | $1.50 | $1.33 | $1.17 | $1.00 |
| 1,000 rows | $1.50 | $1.33 | $1.17 | $1.00 |
| 10,000 rows | $15.00 | $13.33 | $11.67 | $10.00 |
| 100,000 rows | $150.00 | $133.33 | $116.67 | $100.00 |
Episode rows count like any other row, so "every episode of 50 albums" can be thousands of rows — set maxTracksPerAlbum and maxItems to what you need.
Maximum cost per run
Every Apify run has a Maximum cost per run (set in the run options, or by Apify when you leave it empty). The scraper reads it at the start, works out how many results it covers at your price, and stops cleanly when it gets there: the run succeeds, keeps everything collected and says so in its status (Saved N rows — this run's maximum cost ($X) covers N results at the current price. Raise "Maximum cost per run" to get more.). It never writes a row it cannot charge for, so the run is never aborted halfway. For a 10,000-row run on the free plan, set the maximum cost to at least $15.
Integrations
API, apify-client and webhooks
Everything in the Console is available over the REST API and the official clients for JavaScript and Python (see the tutorial). Add a webhook on "run succeeded" to push the dataset URL to your server, Slack or a queue the moment a run ends.
Make (Integromat)
Use the Apify app in Make: "Run an Actor" with this Actor and your input JSON, then "Get dataset items" and map title, playCount, subscriberCount, url to your next module (Google Sheets, Airtable, Notion, e-mail).
Zapier
The Apify integration in Zapier starts the Actor on a trigger (schedule, new row in a sheet, form) and passes the dataset to the next step. Filter on type if you only want albums.
n8n
Use the Apify node (or an HTTP Request node to run-sync-get-dataset-items) and continue with n8n's Spreadsheet, Postgres or Airtable nodes. The JSON is flat apart from tags, so it maps directly.
Google Sheets and Airtable
Export CSV from the dataset, or use the Google Sheets integration on the Actor's Integrations tab to append every run's rows to a sheet. Chinese text stays intact (UTF-8).
Scheduling
Apify Schedules run the same input daily or weekly — the base for monitoring new releases (categorySort: "updated"), play-count trends (compare playCount per id over time) or anchor growth (followers per anchor id).
Data warehouses (BigQuery, Snowflake, Postgres, S3)
Pull the dataset as JSON lines or CSV from the API and load it with your usual tool. id + type is a stable key; scrapedAt marks the snapshot.
MCP and AI agents
The Actor can be called from AI agents through Apify's MCP server and the Apify tools for agent frameworks: an agent asks for "the 50 most played history podcasts on Ximalaya" and gets typed rows back. The description, intro and tags texts are good grounding material for RAG over Chinese audio catalogues.
Performance tips
- Keep details on unless you only need lists — the album page adds tags, subscribers, rating, comments, price, VIP flags, dates and the anchor's followers. For pure id/title/plays lists of a category, details off is about five times faster.
- For episodes, set
maxTracksPerAlbum: popular audiobooks have thousands of episodes (one top album has 4,605). - For broad keywords, more keywords beat one keyword with a huge
maxItems: each keyword is its own list with its own 3,000-result window. - For whole categories, Ximalaya's most played order (
popular) gives the most valuable albums first. - Parallel requests: 20 suits Ximalaya; going higher rarely helps and lowering it is only useful if the log shows many retries.
- No proxy needed. Ximalaya answers the Apify platform directly; the fallback routes switch on by themselves.
Troubleshooting: every status message explained
| Status message | What it means | What to do |
|---|---|---|
Saved N/M rows (… albums, … tracks) · S s | Progress while running | Nothing |
COMPLETED: saved N rows (…; max results reached) in S s. | Stopped at maxItems | Raise maxItems for more |
COMPLETED: saved N rows (…; every matching result read) in S s. | Every list was read to its end | More keywords, categories or orders give more |
COMPLETED: saved N rows (…; stopped at the run time limit) in S s. | The run's timeout came first; everything collected is saved | Raise the run timeout or split the input |
PARTIAL: saved N rows (…) · K page(s) could not be read. | Some pages failed after all retries and routes; the rest is complete | Run the same input again; if it repeats, tell us |
… · K albums without page details (Ximalaya did not answer) | Those albums are saved with their list data only | Usually a passing hiccup; run again for those albums |
EMPTY_RESULT: Ximalaya answered but nothing matched … | The search or list is genuinely empty | Check spelling, try Chinese keywords or a broader category |
Album N is not on Ximalaya (…已被删除…) / Episode N is not on Ximalaya. / Anchor N is not on Ximalaya. | The pasted id was removed or never existed | Check the URL |
None of the subcategories … belongs to …; reading the whole category. | The subcategory name did not match that category | Use the Chinese name or URL code from the category page |
Saved N rows — this run's maximum cost ($X) covers N results at the current price. Raise "Maximum cost per run" to get more. | The run stopped at your cost limit (succeeded) | Raise "Maximum cost per run" |
Saved 0 rows — this run's maximum cost ($X) does not cover a single result … | The limit is below the price of one result | Raise "Maximum cost per run" |
INVALID_INPUT: nothing usable in the input — … (run fails) | Nothing in the input could be used (unknown category, foreign URL …) | Fix the input as the message says |
No rows collected: no page could be fetched (…) after N attempt(s). This is a source-access failure, not an empty result. (run fails) | Ximalaya refused or did not answer on every route | Run again later; it is rare and usually brief |
No rows collected and N page(s) could not be read, so an empty result cannot be confirmed. (run fails) | Pages failed and nothing was saved | Run again |
Crashed after saving N rows: … (run fails) | An unexpected error; rows saved before it are kept | Send us the run link |
Log lines you may see: Ximalaya is not answering the direct connection (…); switching to the Apify datacenter proxy. and The direct connection answers again — using it. are the automatic route changes; no action needed.
Honest limits
- List windows. Ximalaya serves 2,500 albums per category list and 3,000 results per search order. The scraper splits by subcategory, order and category filter, but the long tail of a category with 1.6 million albums is not reachable through lists alone; narrower subcategories and specific keywords reach deeper.
- Search keywords. Ximalaya's search needs a keyword (an empty search is refused), and its relevance order is Ximalaya's own.
- Episode order.
trackOrder: reverseflips the album's own order; whether that means newest-first depends on how the album lists its episodes (seeorderInAlbum). - Albums the Ximalaya app does not serve. About one album in ten is listed on the website but not served by Ximalaya's app interface (copyright). Their episodes are read from the website's player list instead, one request per episode — slower, and without
shareCountandpreviewSeconds. - No audio. The Actor exports metadata only; it does not download or stream audio and does not unlock paid or VIP content.
- Comments. Comment counts are included; the text of individual comments is not.
- Rankings. Ximalaya's chart pages (排行榜) are protected by a device signature and are not used; most played category lists cover the same need.
- Numbers move. Plays and subscribers change by the minute;
scrapedAtrecords when each row was read.

FAQ
What is Ximalaya Scraper?
An Apify Actor that exports albums, episodes and anchors from Ximalaya (喜马拉雅), China's largest audio platform, as structured data: plays, subscribers, ratings, comments, prices, VIP flags, dates, durations and anchor followers.
Is there an official Ximalaya API?
Ximalaya has an open platform (开放平台) for approved developers and apps. This Actor needs no approval, no app and no keys — it reads the public data the website shows.
How do I scrape Ximalaya to Excel or CSV?
Run the Actor, open the dataset and click Export → CSV or Excel. Pick the Albums, Episodes or Anchors view first to export only those columns.
How do I get the play count of a Ximalaya album?
Paste the album URL into Ximalaya URLs or ids (or search for it). The playCount column is the album's total plays; with episodes on, each episode row has its own playCount.
Can I export all episodes of a Ximalaya album?
Yes: paste the album URL, turn on Also export every album's episodes and set Max results to 0. Popular albums with thousands of episodes are read 200 episodes per request.
How many albums can I scrape from Ximalaya?
12,000 unique albums from one category in one run were measured. Several categories or keywords in one run go further; each list adds up to 2,500 (categories) or 3,000 (search) results.
How fast is it?
About 12–13 fully detailed albums per second (1,000 albums in 79 s, 12,000 in 996 s), and around 200 episode rows per second when episodes are on (1,484 episodes plus their 16 albums in 7.7 s).
Do I need a proxy to scrape ximalaya.com?
No. Ximalaya answers the Apify platform directly. If it ever stops answering, the Actor switches to Apify's datacenter proxy and then, for a limited number of requests, a residential route on its own.
Do I need a Ximalaya account, login or cookies?
No. Nothing is logged in and no cookies are needed.
Does it work with Chinese keywords?
Yes, and Chinese keywords give the best results on Ximalaya (三国演义, 郭德纲, 英语听力). English titles and names work too.
Can I search for anchors (主播) instead of albums?
Yes: set Search for to anchors. Each anchor row has followers, following, albums, episodes, level, verification and its title, VIP, gender, province and city.
Can I scrape a Ximalaya anchor's albums?
Paste the anchor's page (https://www.ximalaya.com/zhubo/
How do I scrape a Ximalaya category?
Pick it under Categories (for example 有声书, 相声评书, 历史) or paste the category page URL. Add Subcategories to narrow it (悬疑, 文学, 郭德纲).
What does "most played", "recommended" and "recently updated" mean?
They are Ximalaya's own category orders: 播放最多, 综合排序 and 最近更新. Search has relevance (综合), most played and newest.
Is the rating (score) the same as on the album page?
Yes. score is the album's listener rating out of 10 as Ximalaya shows it; albums without enough ratings have null.
What currency are prices in?
喜点 (Ximalaya coins), as Ximalaya writes them; 1 喜点 equals 1 CNY. priceUnit says whether it is per episode (喜点/集) or for the whole album (喜点).
What does vipFree mean?
That Ximalaya VIP members can listen to the album without buying it. The badge column shows the cover badge (VIP, SVIP or 付费) as on the site.
What is the difference between isPaid and isFree on episodes?
isPaid says the episode belongs to paid content; isFree says whether it plays without paying — every episode of a free album, and the free trial episodes at the start of many paid albums.
Why do some albums have no tags?
Not every album has tags on Ximalaya (about half in our measurement). The column is null for those, never an empty placeholder.
Are duplicates removed?
Yes. Every album, episode and anchor is saved once per run, by its Ximalaya id — even when two keywords or lists contain it.
Why did I get fewer results than Ximalaya's total?
Ximalaya reports totals much larger than any list it serves (2,500 per category list, 3,000 per search order). The Actor splits lists to go further, but the reachable depth is the sum of the lists, not the headline total.
Can I monitor new Ximalaya releases every day?
Yes: browse a category with Category order: Recently updated on a daily schedule and keep the ids you have not seen before.
Can I track play counts over time?
Run the same input on a schedule and compare playCount (and subscriberCount, commentCount) per id across runs; scrapedAt dates each snapshot.
Does it download the audio files?
No. It exports metadata only and does not download, stream or unlock any audio.
Does it get the comments themselves?
It gets the comment counts of albums and episodes, not the text of each comment.
Can I paste a Ximalaya search page?
Yes: https://www.ximalaya.com/so/
Does it work with m.ximalaya.com links?
Yes, mobile album, episode and anchor links are recognised like the www ones.
Are times in China time?
Times are ISO 8601 in UTC (the Z at the end). Ximalaya shows China Standard Time (UTC+8); add 8 hours for the time shown on the site. Album dates (createdAt, updatedAt from the album page) are calendar dates as the site shows them.
Can I use the data in an AI or LLM project?
Yes, subject to your own legal review: titles, intros, descriptions, tags and categories are clean UTF-8 text; numbers are typed. See Is it legal to scrape Ximalaya?.
What happens if Ximalaya changes its site?
The run fails loudly instead of returning empty data (see the troubleshooting table), and we fix the Actor. Every run's SUMMARY shows exactly which part answered.
Can it scrape other Chinese audio platforms?
This Actor is for Ximalaya only.
I need a field or a filter that is missing. Can you add it?
Probably — write to us (see Support) with an example album or anchor.

Is it legal to scrape Ximalaya?
This Actor reads data that Ximalaya shows publicly to any visitor, without logging in and without bypassing any paywall, signature or protection meant to keep content private. It does not download audio. Whether your particular use is lawful depends on what you do with the data and where: copyright in descriptions, cover images and audio stays with its owners; profile data of individual anchors is personal information, so if you process it you are responsible for complying with China's Personal Information Protection Law (PIPL), the EU/UK GDPR and any other law that applies to you (a lawful basis, purpose limitation, data minimisation, retention, and the rights of the people concerned). Use the data for analysis and research, respect Ximalaya's terms where they bind you, do not republish copyrighted content wholesale, and ask a lawyer if you are unsure.
