Groupon Scraper - Local Deals & Discounts

Under maintenance (September 18, 2026): the default city/category cloud check received HTTP 403 from Groupon. Source access has not been restored. Failed requests now produce a failed run and no result rows.

How It Works

1. Fetches Groupon category pages via server-side rendered HTML
2. Extracts deal data from embedded JSON in data-bhd attributes (Next.js hydration data)
3. If more results are needed, automatically expands to additional categories
4. Deduplicates deals by ID to avoid repeats across categories

Notes

• Groupon serves ~9 deals per category page via SSR
• For larger result sets, the scraper automatically crawls multiple categories
• Search mode returns deals matching your keyword across all categories
• Source access can be blocked; a blocked request is not a valid empty search.

Run results and diagnostics

The dataset contains result records only. Empty searches do not add an error row. If every request fails and no records can be returned, the run fails; partial data is retained with a partial-results status. Open Run summary for request failures and the returned record count.
