Finding category paths
The path is whatever appears in the site URL after /shop/. For example:
https://www.therealreal.com/shop/women/handbags→"women/handbags"https://www.therealreal.com/shop/women/handbags/shoulder-bags→"women/handbags/shoulder-bags"https://www.therealreal.com/shop/men/watches→"men/watches"
Browse the site, copy the URL of any category you like, and drop it into searchQueries.
How it works
The RealReal is a Next.js site protected by PerimeterX (HUMAN) bot defense. Each category page server-renders up to 120 fully-detailed product records inside its embedded __NEXT_DATA__ JSON. This Actor fetches those pages with a realistic browser fingerprint (and residential proxy) and extracts the structured product data directly — no fragile HTML parsing.
Note: The RealReal's free-text keyword search and deep pagination run through a bot-gated GraphQL API and are not server-rendered, so this scraper browses by category path (which is stable and reliable) rather than by keyword.
Use cases
- Resale arbitrage — compare The RealReal prices vs. retail/MSRP to spot deals.
- Designer price monitoring — track pre-owned Hermès, Chanel, Rolex, Louis Vuitton pricing.
- Market research — analyze luxury resale inventory, condition mix, and demand signals.
- Inventory feeds — power dashboards, alerts, or comparison tools.
Pricing
Pay-per-result: a small charge per listing returned, plus a tiny actor-start fee. You only pay for the data you get.
