🍅 Rotten Tomatoes scores and reviews for film research

Film researchers, catalog teams, and developers can collect public Rotten Tomatoes movie, TV series, and season data in structured rows. Get available Tomatometer and audience scores, cast, credits, and title details, or collect critic and audience reviews. Use the data to compare scores, add facts to a catalog, or study audience feedback without copying each page by hand.

📦 Movie, TV, and review data

Title rows identify the actual source title and its Rotten Tomatoes URL. They can include scores, review counts, a synopsis, cast, credits, release dates, and artwork links. Series scores and season scores stay tied to their own title pages.

Review rows hold one public critic or audience review. They can include text, a rating or original score, dates, reviewer details, and source flags. Optional fields appear when the source provides them. Image and review links are references, not downloaded files.

The first eligible occurrence of each source item is saved. Later matches from another keyword or URL are ignored and do not add data to the saved row.

▶️ Choose title details or reviews

  1. Choose Titles for title facts and scores, or Reviews for individual reviews.
  2. For Titles, enter keywords, Rotten Tomatoes URLs, or both. Choose movies, TV, or both for keyword search.
  3. For Reviews, enter movie or TV-season URLs and choose critic, audience, or both. Set the Top Critics or verified-audience filters if needed.
  4. Set maxItems to limit saved rows across the run. Leave it empty to return all available results until the source is exhausted.
  5. Start the run and open the dataset from the Output tab.

Keyword search does not guarantee an exact title match. Use a title URL when you know which page you want. Options for the other result type are ignored.

❓ FAQ

Does a review URL decide which review source is collected?

The reviewType choice sets whose reviews to collect, even when a submitted URL has review query parameters or a fragment. Choose critic, audience, or both in the form.

How do I get season scores instead of series scores?

Choose Titles and submit the season URL, such as https://www.rottentomatoes.com/tv/breaking_bad/s01. A series page and a season page carry their own scores. A series row can also list season names and links.

Can I combine Top Critics and verified audience reviews?

Yes. Choose both for reviewType. Turn on topCriticsOnly to limit critic reviews and verifiedAudienceOnly to limit audience reviews. Each filter applies to its own review source.

What happens when two keywords find the same title?

Only the first eligible occurrence is saved. Later matches are ignored and do not change the saved row. The same rule applies when a title is also submitted by URL.

What happens if I leave Maximum results empty?

The Actor returns all available results until the source is exhausted. Set a positive maxItems value to stop after that many title or review rows across the run.

Will every title have every field?

No. Scores, credits, dates, and other optional fields depend on what Rotten Tomatoes publishes. This Actor does not provide episode lookup, showtimes, streaming prices, or exhaustive cast credits.

Is this the official Rotten Tomatoes website?

No. This is an Apify Actor for collecting public Rotten Tomatoes data. The source website is https://www.rottentomatoes.com/. You do not need a Rotten Tomatoes login for the supported public title data.
