Extract text from images in bulk with open-source Tesseract OCR: screenshots, scanned documents, receipts, signs, menus and product photos. Returns full text, confidence, word and line counts for each image URL, in 100+ languages. Runs entirely inside the Actor with no Google or third-party OCR service, so it's private and predictable.
Use cases
- Pull text from screenshots, receipts or scanned pages into a spreadsheet
- Read text in product or listing photos for cataloging
- Make image text searchable or feed it to an LLM
Input
| Field | Type | Notes |
|---|---|---|
imageUrls | array | Direct links to PNG, JPG, WebP, BMP or GIF images. |
languages | array | Tesseract codes, e.g. eng, spa, deu, fra, chi_sim. Several = mixed text. |
maxConcurrency | integer |
Example input
{"imageUrls": ["https://tesseract.projectnaptha.com/img/eng_bw.png","https://raw.githubusercontent.com/tesseract-ocr/tessdoc/main/images/eurotext.png","https://example.com/missing.png"],"languages": ["eng"]}
